Loving it one year later
I bought this unit 13 months ago, so I'd estimate it has been through 250 loads or so. So here's my take.I live in the desert of central Arizona, which brings a few laundry challenges. First, it is very dusty here, so any outdoor chore is likely to get clothes (especially socks or pant legs) quite dirty. Second- it is hot! 115 degrees is a normal summer day. Which means I sweat a lot! And since I'm very active (hiking, running, and mountain biking) those two things combine, and my washer is asked to handle some stinky, sweat soaked and dust covered clothing. (Imagine my clothes after a two hour mountain bike ride featuring a wipeout or two. Filthy and bloody). Two other issues make laundry a challenge here- our water is EXTREMELY hard, and I have a septic tank that I'd rather not dump suds and chemicals into if I can avoid it.The WashIt has performed flawlessly. I use no detergent whatsoever, nor fabric softener. The only time I use bleach is for badly stained whites, and then only 1/4 cup. My hot water tap behind the washer has been turned off for a year now.I have a high end LG front loader, and the cycle I choose is Speed Wash with cold water. This takes only 25 minutes. But since the rinse water passes through the WashIt, and there's no detergent to rinse away, I actually get two wash cycles in that time. The laundry comes out perfectly clean, with no chemical odors or perfumes, which I love. Colors stay bright, and items like towels are noticeably fluffier and more absorbent (I'm assuming this is because the fibers are not coated with unrinsed detergent residue). As an added bonus, having the clothes truly clean (as opposed to coated with detergent) means they dry much faster, saving energy even in the dryer.I was an early adopter, so I paid $400 for mine. It is absolutely worth that price. At today's lower price, it's a steal! If mine were stolen today, honestly, I'd order another for overnight delivery so I didn't have to do laundry the old fashioned way.If you're on the fence, go ahead and order this. You will not regret it.

Its just OK
Works ok with towels and other items that are not soiled, like the way the towels and sheets smell super fresh. Ive had it close to a month and have learned that it will not get the sweat smell out of gym clothes so I go back to the traditional cleaning method for Gym clothes and anything really soiled. I have just a regular top loader, nothing special about it and for some reason I have to manually turn the wash-it setting to high efficiency to "jump start" the blue light to come on and wait to do the same to the rinse cycle (my niece has the same issue with hers) which makes for an inconvenience to have to watch and wait to reset the machine.Odd the manufacturers website and number are not working to try and resolve the issue. I could do with of without it.Its just plain OK.

Fantabulous laundry system
This is the 2nd Wash It I've bought, and I'm so sad to find they are no longer producing them. I am so sensitive to any scents, petroleum products and such; then you add my weakened immune system, this was like the perfect product for our home. Just love it! No more laundry soap purchases for us. Even when we had someone in our home come down with MRSA during a hospital stay, this was one of the tools we used to protect me. Fabulous!! Please please revive the Wash It for so many of us who need something like this.

We have hard water in New Mexico resulting in gray vs white shirts. With the newer side door washer the clothes are flopped around the canister but not agitated in water as in the top loads. Thus the surface of the towels etc.remain soiled. Also, given that liquid soaps have petroleum in them mold tens to collect in the hoses causing a smell in the machine and on the clothing. For these reasons I was willing to try anything that would work. I haven't had the Wash It very long but clothes do appear to be cleaner. MA

Buyer Beware!
Three stars because it was great when it worked. We've had it for 22 mos. and it stopped working. Started making different noises too. Oh by the way........the company is no longer in business, so their 3 yr warranty means bubkas.

The product works very well, almost all my clothing came out spotless and smelling great. Even very soilled items (i.e. polishing cloths, etc) came out much better than with soap. However, there was a quality control problem with unit. As I took the unit out of the packaging, there was a part loose in the unit. I examined it and installed the unit. It worked well. I eventually replced the unit under warranty. The replacement was perfect in every way.
