Redi Shade.. worked for me!!
After months of looking for a 'window treatment' for this arch window, I happened upon Amazon's offering for Redi-Shade. I bought the small one and for the price, it beat buying a specialty flex-rod and trying to figure out how to get a sheer curtain on it. I was tempted to buy the cutting tool, but after reading other reviews, figured my coping saw or my good finely serrated bread knife was up to the task. The shade arrived and I carefully measured my arch according to package directions. I used several of those black binder clips to hold the shade so it wouldn't shift while I was cutting it. The coping saw worked fine.As for the adhesive strip, I didn't need to use it as the sill for this window is quite deep and the shade stays put. However, if I do need to fix it in place, I will use some adhesive backed Vel-Cro tape (available at most sewing/craft stores). There are also Vel-Cro 'dots' in various sizes that may work as well.As for cleaning the shade, and this one is heavy paper stock, I will probably vacuum it with the brush attachment. Alternatively, use a paper towel dampened with Windex All-Surface cleaner (it's clear so there's no color stain problem). Now I'm looking for something as easy and cost-effective as Redi-shade for the large Eyebrow (think flat arch)window that I have.

Fills the void- cheaply
I have two arch windows side by side. Learn a lesson from me- measure EACH window. I don't know how, but one window is a half inch larger than the other, but they are 30 year old windows (or the built in measure was off but I doubt that). Both cuts I made were identical remainder length but one window ended up with a 1/2 inch air gap. They're up high so no one can see it from outside the house (whew!). May be able to block it up if wife notices. Adjacent windows have white narrow venician style blinds (as seen from outside), so when incandescent indoor lighting is on at night, looks like yellow eyes coming through these paper shades. The quality of the shades themselves is very good [paper]. They shipped and arrived intact. When installing, 1) use the factory cut side towards the clear bracket/bottom or the shade will end up wonky at the bend 2) before removing adhesive tape cover, set the shade assembled in place and center, then start pulling the tape while the shade is in that position for perfect alignment.

Use 3M "Command Strips" to hold them up!
I read all the reviews before I bought these, so I was prepared, or so I thought. I didn't have any trouble cutting them, with a new blade in a standard box cutter (no need to buy their special cutting tool). I needed these for three semicircular windows in my dining room, which the sun makes unbearably hot on summer mornings. These Redi Shades work PERFECTLY! No more overheated room, and plenty of diffused sunlight. The only thing, as so many other purchasers have experienced, these shades would not stay up, at first. I tried double-stick tape between the little plastic holder and the window, and the heat of the sun would cause the tape to release and the shades to fall down. BUT - I tried 3M "Command Strips," and these did the trick. After I put a couple 3M "Command Strips" on the back of each plastic holder, and pressed these against the inside of the window, they have stuck there with no problems at all. None of the shades has come down, or even loosened at all. Problem solved.

Great value
For the reviewer who said "Don't waste your money", I say "you get what you pay for".We bought these to block sun on the round windows that are above the rectangular bottom parts. We have wooden blinds below but the tops are open and the sun is a killer. We priced plantation shutters and other products but the prices were prohibitive. When we ordered these, for as cheap as they were, we didn't expect much. We were pleasantly surprised.A slight modification was needed. These fan shades are made to attach to a bottom sill of a round window. Our application was to put them above blinds that cover the bottom of the window. Since the blinds have an open topped box at top, it was necessary to cut a piece of 1/4" paneling to cover the top of that box. Then installation was easy. They look great from the street. We put them up this winter so we will just have to wait and see how well they hold up to the South Texas summer sun.

Looks great !
I bought this shade a little while back and didn't install it until yesterday (September 4th), when the sun became annoying through my office arched window - usually this time of year (late summer).Surprisingly enough, it was almost an exact fit - just had to do a little trimming with the scissors on the left side. I used double sticky tape to hold the center down in place. If you do this correctly, the blind will not waiver (become flimsy).Yes the material is lightweight - it is made of heavy paper - but what would one expect for this price? It looks so nice ~ the light now filters through - no bright sunlight - and the price was alot better than getting arched wood blinds to match the others. This is the easiest project I have ever done by myself - hubby is out of town. Thank you Amazon for selling this awesome product !

Use your OWN Ruler to measure!
I really am pleased with the outcome of using this shade. Once cut, it was a snap to place it in the window and walk away. This shade is easy to cut with a regular utility knife (no need to buy special cutter). Luckily, based on other reviews for this item, I did NOT use the ruler that was part of the shade. The one provided was a full one inch short, so my shade would have been cut too small for the space had I used it. I also purchased the larger arch shade, so I definitely will also verify it's measurements with my own ruler. If one size is not accurate, you must assume that all their different trimmable shades have the same issue.
