Now having the right technique it scores the glass great. Remember it does not “cut” the glass
Practice. Practice. Practice.I never cut glass before so when I first used this I broke the glass. However after 5 practice runs I got a feel for the amount of pressure and speed to use.Now having the right technique it scores the glass great. Remember it does not “cut” the glass, it scores the surface, then you break along the score line.Do not fill the chamber with oil. Just put in a few drops.Too much oil in the chamber and it will run out.Nice device, works well, but for the novice, practice needed.

Works beautifully!!!
While I never write reviews, but on the heals of writing a bad product review here on Amazon, I needed to spread a little positive! Here is one!! After throwing my money away buying cheap glass cutters at Lowes and the Depot (it's all they carry) and having a success level of 0 on our glass project I ordered this cutter. Perfection. Easy and precise, thank you!! Our project is complete and we are now looking to use this "perfect score" as soon as another project presents itself.

Best glass cutter on Amazon for the price!
I'll keep this short and simple. This think works wonders! I used it on 1/8" glass and I was able to shave off 1/4" strips without breaking the glass. The only reason I'm giving this 4 stars is because it did not come with oil in the package, only the oil dropper. I used it without oil without an issue though!5 Star Cutter, but missing recommended oil

Good for the hobbiest or beginner glazier
Purchased two of these cutters as backup for use at my job as a professional glazier. I have 12 years experience cutting glass and am thoroughly impessed with the performance of these bargain priced oil filled glass cutters. They do the job equally well as my professional Toyo cutter. If you need to cut flat glass on a budget I would recommended this item. The only con I found is the lack of "felt" or some other medium in the cutter head which helps regulate the flow of oil to the wheel. Without it the oil will leak out. This was easy to remedy by removing the head and adding a tiny piece of felt or cloth to slow the oil flow. Or just dip the cutting head oil before you score glass.

cuts mirror pretty easily!
I watched some videos on YouTube and got some glass cutting oil and I was able to cut mirror in a straight line pretty easily. You just have to make sure you have a really good straight edge to cut against, a little ruler won't do it. This is the only glass cutter I've used, so I can't really compare it with others, but it feels nice in my hand, it has a little weight to it and I like that you can put the oil in the handle.

Great Tool
This cutter works great. It's heft yells keep just the right amount of pressure on the glass. I have little experience cutting glass but I was quickly cutting clean straight cuts and curved cuts with this tool. I find that you need to shake it like an oral thermometer to get the oil to saturate the wick when it's not in use for a period of time. While my understanding is that carbide cutting wheels require no oil, it cuts better when using oil.

Nice
I never had one before this purchase so I am still getting used to it, but I cannot seem to use it, as of yet, effectively as I have seen others in tutorial videos. But I am anxious to master the use of it to finish my projects I have started. Not too sure about filling the oil chamber up completely yet for fears of leakage when not in use so I have opted to using it without the oil chamber filled and applying the cutting oil when and where needed. Seems to work just as well, not that I would really know the difference at this time (because of the inexperience).

Very disappointed, not in the habit of buying poorly made ...
I bought this glass cutter after reading the reviews. I used it once with okay results, however when I went to use it a second time I notice the cutting wheel was no longer attached. Very disappointed, not in the habit of buying poorly made products!
