GumDrop Pacifier – The Perfect Fit – Without Trimming When you cut down a pacifier, it no longer meets US government safety requirements. Babies can be put at risk with an unsafe pacifier and the possibility of loose bits of silicone. That’s why we created GumDrop. GumDrop is a safe, soft topped pacifier that’s already been designed to fit your baby’s face – even in the face of tubes and cannulas. And it’s perfect for side-lying. What’s more, GumDrop rests comfortably against your baby’s delicate skin, offering a silicon-covered, curved surface and a familiar nipple shape that babies love. Special, Uni-Body Construction Won’t Fold or Come Apart GumDrop’s uni-body construction means that the pacifier can’t be disassembled and won’t come apart. Its unique design involves a plastic guard that is completely over-molded with medical grade silicone. So GumDrop’s surfaces are as soft as the nipple itself. In addition, GumDrop’s open back lets you easily position and reposition the pacifier in the baby’s mouth.

Soothing and smells great!
1. Smells great...I loved smelling my babies breath from the pacifier(pink/vanilla scent). Do not over boil the pacifier or the smell will go away, keep it at about 5 mins. tops.2. Did not irritate my babies eczema.3. If your baby loved this pacifier and begins to spit it out after a month or two, then you need to upgrade to the next size (newborn to full term).

Works well if your baby can keep it in his/her mouth
We started out with these and the Soothie pacifiers. Our daughter started with the Soothie and seemed to have a preference for that initially. She did later take this paci as well, however with both this and the Soothie, she kept spitting it out. I initially wanted to use these so as to eliminate the possibility of nipple confusion - however we soon realized that wasn't a big deal as she was doing great nursing. We bought some of the Avent infant pacifiers and she loved those. They have a small 'bulb' shape at the end - so as she's sucking, she's keeping it in her mouth. We had no problems with those being spit out. I've seen a few babies successfully use and keep these style pacifiers in, but most I've talked to start with these and then soon move on to the Avent pacifiers. While it is well made and a great style (I like that it's not the big green circle in her face), I probably wouldn't have needed to buy these.

Accept no imitations!
I am mom to a five week old, exclusively breastfed, little girl. In preparation for returning to work I decided to introduce a pacifier, and after looking online found most of he BF moms recommended Gumdrop pacifiers...minor detail I failed to notice was that there is more than one kind. I initially bought one at Target, and my daughter could not/would not take, in fact she screamed each time I tried to give it to her...epic fail. In doing more reading I realized that the Gumdrops available at local retailers are not the same as the Hawaii Medical Gumdrops which are used in hospitals. so I ordered the correct one and received it today. My daughter took it on the first attempt, no wailing or gagging. These are much softer than the "other" Gumdrops out there and does not seem to interfere with the sucking pattern established by a breastfeeding infant, who is not used to hard silicon nipples. I am so glad I gave it another try and bought THE RIGHT PACIFIER this time!

Scented Paci for babies? No thank you!
I didn't like the vanilla scent to use for the baby. The scent is pretty strong and I had to return unfortunately..

Just like the hospital pacis!
These are the only pacis our baby will take. She prefers the vanilla scent, too. I had never heard of a scented paci, and I wouldn't think it would matter, but she loves it!

This is the same pacifier given to my granddaughter in the hospital. Unable to find locally. Great to find it here
