I have only used these once so this response may be premature. My drain seems to be clear and I did not experience this before using the drain stick. Water would go down the drain, slow after a point and then finally drain. Now there is no waiting. I am glad the sticks are marked by the month so that I know it is time to use another one.

I swear by the Drain stix. I put one in all myDains once a month and have had not blockage problems. I've used the for three years and I'm very pleased.
