One of My All-Time Favorites!
When you’re in the mood for a tasty little English Country House Murder, this is the book for you! All of the stories are classics, written by the greatest crime writers ever—Agatha Christie, Dorothy Sayers, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and many more. This is a delightful collection, and the stories are devilishly clever. A wonderful way to take a dreamy step back in time to when bronzed big-game hunters, society girls, social butterflies and serious Oxford dons could find themselves all caught up together in deducing who killed Lord Chizelwit in the conservatory with the antique mantel clock.

A Brilliant Master-Class
This was an excellent compilation of English Country House Murder Mysteries. I have read a few similar compilations and they all start out nice and by the third short story they are boring and predictable. This is a collection of the best names in British Country House Mysteries (Conan Doyle, Agatha Christie, Wilkie Collins, etc.). I found new authors to admire that I'd never heard of. And these stories are wonderful. It's like a master class in this type of genre.

another unputdownable
I just love a good mystery and this one is stacked with them. It's a pity I live in a climate which does not require a roaring fire and a hot toddy but even in the tropics you can curl up during a serious thunderstorm with a comforting port and enjoy this seriously readable book.

Book club selection
I ordered several copies of this book for members in my mystery book club. Some did not like it because it was a collection of short stories. Some liked it because they could pick out their favorite classic mystery writers.
