Skip the IWISS ratcheting crimper and get this. I bought both this and the ratcheting crimper to compare. The ratchet is much easier to use, but gets just "OK" results. This thing does a proper hex crimp that's quite uniform all the way around. The ratcheting version kind of mashes the connector flat-ish, especially if you do two hits (which I think you should). I've attached some pictures (black wire). I've been crimping dozens of heavy lugs (no insulation) onto marine grade 6AWG cable for solar battery bank. This is my go-to crimper now for big lugs. The ratchet is being returned. Only two minor complaints: 1) it leaves a bit of a "shark fin" on both sides of the crimp - basically where the jaws come together. It's not bad and looks fine with heatshrink over it. 2) you need 3 hands to operate it. my method is to load the lug into the jaws, come down lightly on it, then place the crimper on its side on a sturdy workbench (one handle resting on the bench), insert the wire and press down on the top handle. Once the lug has a grip, pick the whole mess up and finish it with both hands. Excellent, predictable performance at a very good price. It is marked in AWG. It crimps copper terminals very tight, but leaves a raised ridge of copper that is squeezed out between the jaws, about 1/16 inch high. I'm very happy with mine, and the markings seem accurate. the cutter is great, I've gone as low as 2 ga and it has no issues. That's about all I can tell you. **Q: Can these crimpers crimp 6 AWG insulated terminals?** A: Yes and does a good job of it. It can crimp 1,2,4,6,&8 AWG terminals. I mount one handle in a vise so I can use just one hand to do the crimp and one hand to hold the terminal in place.
