I've ordered about three other sleep masks before discovering this one. First were two different "bubble" masks with a convex shape that allows your eyelids to move freely rather than pressing on your lids like a flat mask does. Those didn't have very good coverage, the nose cut out seem to pinch my nose rather than fit over it neatly, and in particular, the edges of the mask would dig into my face as I moved around at night. Finally, the bands that held it to my head were thin and would catch in my hair and pull. I tried to get used to them, but eventually got tired of being woken up by something whose purpose is to try to help me sleep better!So I got a very soft silk mask, which was a flat but made of extremely soft material and with a band that didn't have Velcro but rather tightened with a loop. In order to keep it from slipping around on my face, I had to pull the band tight enough. Well, because the band was so thin, it created this effect of pulling the mask tight across my eyes so that I felt like I had a band pulling at my eyes! The only way that I could really use mask was to make the band loose enough so that it didn't create a pulling sensation, but that meant that it slipped around on my face often and I would be exposed to light.So I wanted to see if there were other kinds of masks out there and I found this one. It's perfect! it is made of extremely soft fabric which does not dig into my face in the least. It has little bolsters around the rim which hold the mask away from your eyes so they can move freely. The bolsters have rounded edges covered with soft fabric so the mask edges won't dig in. The size of the mask is large enough to block all light and there is no pinching sensation at all over the bridge of the nose. The band itself, while made of velcro, is quite wide. This makes it easy to position exactly so that there isn't any exposed velcro that catches on the hair.I'm not sure exactly why the outside face of the mask is covered with a soft, fleece like fabric, but I suppose there is a rational reason for it.So if you are reading this review and worrying about spending $11 instead of $7 or so like some of the other masks, consider how much more you're spending if you buy three $7 masks that are unsatisfactory. I'm adding another one to my cart after I finish this review.

Over the past 30 years, I have used dozens of sleeping masks -- many purchased through Amazon. Some have been quite comfortable, but none has ever blocked out all of the light. They have all let some small amount of light in around my nose. I even thought about designing a sleeping mask myself, because I was sure it was possible to do better. Now OriHea has done better. That extra flap around the nose, combined with the rest of the design, really blocks out all of the light. And it's comfortable, too. That makes it the best sleeping mask I've ever owned, and that motivated me to write my second product review on Amazon in the 22 years I've been an Amazon customer. Thank you, OriHea!

I was wary of so many high reviews, but this mask honestly deserves them. I have used many other masks over the years, and I had pretty much been resigned to the fact that, as a side sleeper, I would always have to deal with light sneaking in around my nose. Not so with this mask. I have been using it every night for over a week now, and I have never slept so well. The extra flap around the nose area dose a fantastic job keeping light out, regardless of what position I sleep in. Better yet, the mask itself is soft on the inside, so it is comfortable to wear and doesn't press at all against my eyes.The 1 and only complaint is that the band of the mask is a little too low for my (small) head; the natural way that the band sits on my head is a little lower than what I think would be most beneficial, and cuts a little into the tops of my ears. (For what it's worth, I am a 5' 2" female, so my head is probably a bit smaller than some.) But I have quickly gotten used to it - it isn't painful - and I am playing around with avoiding the issue by just letting the band wrap around my ears a bit.UPDATE: This mask lasted me about 6 months. The only reason I had to buy a new one was because the elastic in the band stretched out too much and it was no longer a good fit for me. I have since purchased an upgraded version of the mask (adjustable strap) and I am still in love with it. Orihea sleep masks are the only ones that BLOCK ALL THE LIGHT!

It's nice how it doesn't smash your eyes and eyelashes down. I can actually open and blink my eyes comfortably. The material around the eyes and on the nose is a nice smooth material and does not cause you to get hot or sweaty. If feels like it may even wick away sweat if you did get hot

I ordered one of these when the other one I recently ordered, which was almost identical (except for the color and logo), was no longer in stock. The cost of the above item is $9.99 and the cost of this one is $12.99. The review below is the same review I gave for the other item since it is the same and I verified it feels as comfortable and works just as well as the above item. Now that the above item is back in stock for $3.00 less and is the same item, I went and bought another one. I now will have three of these so if they stop making them I will have two replacements for when these wear out.I slept with this sleep mask last night and it is much better than the one I've been holding onto that I wore out a year or more ago. I've held onto that old one because I tried others but never found one that is comfortable. This blocks out all light also. I'm buying one or two more (when they come back in stock) to make sure I have a backup when this one wears out. However, the way it's made I don't think it will wear out. My last one had a wimpy strap and that wore out rather quickly, though I could still snug it up enough to make it fit good enough to do the job. This one has a wider elastic strap and a Velcro adjustment on the strap instead of a buckle type of adjustment so I would not be surprised if the strap lasts a very long time. I doubt you can beat it for the price.
