Xerox XDM54455D-WU Document Scanner

I actually purchased this for my wife and her use to scan and preserve real estate files. She is in the process of scanning about 30 years of paper files. This scanner is extremely fast and seems to process the multiple scans of multiple sizes with little or no problems. The included software is very helpful and easy to use. Its small footprint is a nice surprise.

Perfect Scanner, I think one of the best on a market for high speed scanning with $$ vs Speed vs Quality in mind ( please do not compare this model to Fujitsu which is a max speed of 20ppm). but I think its about the same quality as Fujitsu models in terms of double feed detection and etc.Minus one start - start up time ( from the time I press scan to the time first page scanning ) - toooo long sometimes >7 seconds - I hope in 2-3 months Xerox will find solution to eliminate this delay and at this point this would be a true 5 star office scannerWith current cloud services you can easily setup folder on one PC and share within office - no network scanner needed for an extra 1000$ and on top of it even Fujitsu 1500$ Network scanner speed only 20+ppm.I was able to achieve claimed 45 ppm with 200 dpi and no software image rendering/modifications , but with image-processing ON and 300 dpi max speed around 25-30 ppmOut of 1000 pages scanned 2 double feeds only - which is very easy to fix since scanner very smart and stops at this pointUpdated 6/2015:see my updated review Xerox vs Fujitsuhttps://www.amazon.com/review/RYGIQQFIEJIM3/ref=cm_cr_rdp_perm

I did a lot of searching and this model had very good reviews. So far I am very impressed with how well it works. Paper slides right through with little to no friction, to me this relates to less jams.Software shipped with it was also very useful.

Works like a charm. I am not very computer savvy but I installed and learned to use it myself. The instruction manual was on line. It took some trial and error but I am very happy with this scanner .

Very happy with it, fast and easy to use. Scanned 20 years worth of documents. My office is now paper free.

The scanner was very easy to set up, with a straightforward installation program. The computer recognized it immediately. It has a long foldout tray for catching paper, but when not in use, takes up very little space on my desk. The included Paperport software seems very full-featured and can be used for a variety of situations. OCR text recognition works fairly quickly on large documents and is quite reliable. The text translation was quite good.While it obviously takes longer to scan the higher you set the quality setting and color depth, for standard day to day document scanning it's blazing fast. Even for color scans, it's far faster than the flat-bed scanner on my all-in-one printer. In Black & White mode, it churns through pages before you can blink. There didn't appear to be any loss of speed when scanning in duplex mode either, capturing both sides of the page at once- very handy!
