Delta RP80977 Plumbing Replacement Parts

I was so surprised this was so easy peasy. What a relief. Rusty magnet replaced.

I had noticed over the past few months that our magnet inside the spout was becoming soft and there was a bunch of brown dust around the inside of our sprayer. Did a little research and noticed that this was available to *possibly* solve the problem. Well *possibly* turned into Absolutely. I was not in the mood to replace our faucet and this has saved me a couple of hundred dollars from having to replace it. The instructions were easy to follow, removal of the existing magnet was not terribly difficult and installation of the new magnet was ez pz. Also allowed me to remove the sprayer and clean it out of debris (unreal what collects over time). The sprayer connects as if it is brand new and now I don't have this limp sprayer hanging down from the spout. Perfect solution in my book. Only regret is I didn't replace the spray hose at the same time (would have been a good time to have completed this process as well.

So worth it, I'm glad that despite my $300 kitchen faucet rusting, delta has made a magnet replacement kit available; It works as advertised and simply replaces the magnet that is prone to rusting. My original lasted roughly two years, and hopefully this one will too. (Glad there's 3 of them included as well!)The orange tool is ok and as simple as it gets to use, I taped it under the sink for next time so I don't loose it..

I actually ordered a new Delta Touch Faucet because the hose sagged and no longer connected via magnet. I spent almost 600 bucks and when it got here it was the item they sent. So I returned it. Not wanting to risk getting a wrong unit delivered again, I googled how to fix the magnet. Frankly, I wouldn’t know what to do with these items — but I then searched on YouTube and found some guy teaching a home instruction video on how to replace it. It took me 15minutes, maybe less. To think, I almost replaced the whole faucet. AND it comes with three magnets. All u need is one, so you’ll have two back up. Excellent product.

The tool included allowed me to remove the old magnet in 5 seconds and insert the new magnet in 5 seconds. The instructions were very thorough and easy to understand. One trick I did was to tie a string to the hose for easy retrieval and keep this to a one person job. I was able to finagle the string and the tool for both the removal and installation. Plus, with 2 more magnets, I won't wait as long to replace it again if needed. My wife says she has a brand new faucet.

My faucet started to rust at the magnet location for the sprayer so I found this product to replace the magnet/plastic connection. Some pros, cons and advice: - I found my sink model type under the sink. There was a tag attached to it so I was able to verify it would be compatible. - They are expensive! Almost $50 for essentially some plastic pieces and the tool. That being said, I couldn’t find any other replacement that was cheaper. Replacing the entire faucet was also a good deal more expensive, so it’s worth doing the cost/benefit analysis on the lifespan of your faucet. - It comes with 2. That helps with stomaching the price. Theoretically you can save the second one and use that down the line should you need another replacement (just remember where you put it - I threw it under the sink). This is also helpful because I broke the first one. Be careful with the amount of force you use as you try to pop the magnet in. The little tab piece will break if you’re not careful. I was able to get the second one in and super glued the first in hopes it’ll be usable in the future if I need it. - Not sure it’s recommended, but if you’re struggling to get the piece in place with the orange tool provided… I used a little rubber mallet to pop the second one into place. I didn’t want to risk breaking another one. Once you know you have the tab lined up, you need a couple taps to make it sit in the faucet evenly. The little rubber mallet I had worked well for this part.

About the product itself, well the original part for the Delta faucet rusted In very short time, the faucet was installed in May and by July it was completely rusted, now for this item, that was used to replaced that defective magnet, it was super easy to replaced using the tool that came with it and you have two more magnets, I guess to replace them as they become rusted. In summary very easy to pull and to install the new one, just following the drawings that came with the part.

Great tool and replacement magnets. Easy to use and clear instructions with the tool. To bad you can't just buy the magnets as the tool is very well made and won't need to be replaced
