High End Audio At A Reasonable Price
I waited over a month to post my review because I wanted to give a good assessment about this receiver .This receiver is heavy, solid and well build. Nad is considered a high-end audio company that sells a lot of high-end amplifiers, pre-amplifiers & separate components. I was surprised when NAD started selling receivers under $1000. This one sells for $1200 and has been reduced to $1000. I can't think of any other receiver on the market for under $1500 that can compete with this one for audio/sound. The sound from this receiver is extraordinarily CLEAN with no distortion. The sound is so clean that it doesn't sound TOO loud like other receivers at moderate to loud volume levels . It has a rather midrange kind of sound with a clean, tight powerful bass. " Nad " puts audio first, it doesn't have a lot of extra video features like ( internet connections ) & etc. like many other receivers. But it suits me perfectly, it has the basic things you need for video. If you want to experience high- end audio at a very reasonable price, this is the receiver for you without a doubt.

A great unit.
I predominantly use this unit as a surround-sound pre-amp to a Rotel surround-sound amp. The surround signal out of this receiver is very good. Likewise, when I use the amp built-in to this receiver, it's pretty dang good too. It's not as good as my Rotel amp (which costs $4,500)--but it's close. So, why didn't I buy a Rotel surround-sound pre-amp? Those things cost $3,500--and the NAD does a beautiful job in this role. And for $799, I'm pleased.

Buyer Beware: NON-EXISTENT WARRANTY SERVICE FOR NAD
What's the catch with buying NAD? *S*E*R*V*I*C*E. I enjoyed the sound quality that this system provided when paired with PSB speakers. However, buyers must beware of the fact that this company doesn't stand behind their products. My unit started overheating and shutting down to prevent heat damage about 1 year into the 2-year warranty. That's when I found out that the company doesn't service their own products. What they don't tell you is that many of their authorized dealers (which seem like decent operations) are not actually authorized to perform repairs. Instead, they outsource to tiny, run-down, hole-in-the-wall repair shops that offer dismal service. Being in the NYC area, I have plenty of options but all of them have turned out to be horrible as nobody seems to have an incentive to perform a warranty repair for an NAD product. It is almost like buying from a gray-market operation that sells you opened/returned items with a voided warranty. You just hope you never need service. What is the worst part is that my home theater has been shut down for months and I won't get compensated for this. I would much rather buy from a large, public corporation that would simply take your old unit and send you a new one immediately and that has some sense of accountability to customers rather than a "boutique" operation that feels they have no obligation once they have your money.

Disappointed, HDMI3 and 4 failed out of the box
I received my NAD T758 receiver on time, it looks great, is easy to use, and all around is a nice unit. My problem is that out of the box only HDMI ports 1 and 2 work. I've validated by using a known good bluray and hdmi cable. They work perfectly on HDMI1 and HDMI2, but moving the same combo to HDMI3 and HDMI4 results in no output of any kind. I understand that things like this happen, but I'm definitely disappointed with an out of the box failure. I'll start the process to replace the unit, but that means I'll be without a receiver for probably a couple of weeks plus I expect I'll have to cover shipping for this massive beast of a receiver in order to get a replacement. Frankly I expect better out of a $1000 receiver. ***************** I processed my return order today and, to my surprise, Amazon is covering the return shipping! I will have to do a return and then reorder IF I decide to stick with the NAD T758. As noted, I really liked the ease of use and the simple interface, the sound quality was good, but out of the box DOA HDMI ports is a fail.

The pioneer was a great until but got fried after 5 years of driving ...
I just replaced a pioneer vsx-32 with this nad t758 after many hours of research. The pioneer was a great until but got fried after 5 years of driving 7 polk audio lci series 4 ohm speakers. (Only rated for 6 ohm.) The t758 is rated down to 2 ohm. Although the Audyssey auto setup was complete crap for me, I'm giving 5 stars because after a no problem manual setup I am sooo delighted with the simplicity of use, 4 ohm rating, appearance, but mostly the dramatic improvement in sound quality. You'd have to hear to believe. This unit has a 10 watts rms lower rating than the pioneer for 7 channels driven. It's much louder. Sounds effortless. Buy it.

Awesome I love NAD puts music first
Awesome I love NAD puts music first.... Not a lot of bells and whistles just nice clean simple power...HDMI 3 and 4 have to be assigned during set up they are not dead as one reviewer has said....Would highly recommend if you want a nice pure receiver..

Fantastic sound. I am running a Def Tech speaker ...
I replaced a $300.00 Sony receiver with this item. Even my wife who has hearing issues could hear the difference. Very well built. Fantastic sound. I am running a Def Tech speaker system with a SVS subwoofer. Even the sub sounds cleaner. Recommending to all of my friends.
