Has a nice quality feel to it!
I have to say... this recorder looks & feels so much more solid & high quality than others I've bought. If you haven't used other off-brand voice recorders, you might not understand, but so many have a toy feel to them. The cases on them are so thin, you can literally crush them in you hand. But NOT this one! It has a comfortable weight & solid feeling to it that instantly made me more confident in it.Good internal mic and record quality. Records in wav format so you may have to import the audio instead of opening it if you use some audio editing programs.Battery life is good and use is fairly intuitive. It's a nice comfortable size to put in a pocket or hold.

audio file transfer resolved
I do like this product - lower rating because not user friendly in some respects. It's hard to make it easier to use because it is so small - I think.I am still learning it's features. One challenge is starting it to record - I have missed some key recordings because I thought I had it going but it wasn't. Or it timed out. Not sure. Have to make sure in voice setting for recording. And better to start the device before intended event to set up to record. It does have a date, time stamp - great feature. Have to read instructions carefully to set up - easy.I was finally able to transfer the audio files to my computer. They are WAV file format; had to switch to my cell phone high speed cable, and to a different USB port, and as another reviewer said - plug in, unplug 3x to get computer to recognize the device (MP3).Once I did that the recorder opened to the audio files. Easy to copy and paste onto computer.Sound quality is good, date stamp on each.Hope it works for you.

Instructions are too small and not clearly written, although worked OK
The instructions are not very clear in how to operate this, and I cannot even read it with my glasses on. Yes, it is small and compact, but I cannot read the screen and/or instructions sheet. I tried to YouTube a video on it, but the couple I found were not much help. It worked OK, but not a good fit for me. This might be better suited for a younger well-sighted person. They took it right back with no fuss.

Vey good hardware, primitive documentation
This recorder seems to be well built, it’s compact, has fairly long battery life And the voice reproduction is very good. The biggest drawback is a lack of documentation, the enclosed user manual is mostly useless and navigating the OS is painful. Don’t bother reading it, it will just confuse you. The best way to learn the device is to poke about until you master it.It seems like some good engineers designed and produced a quality product but without any input from usability experts. Here are the problems:The user interface is hopeless, it’s badly designed, built without the slightest concern for the end user. When using a device like this 99% of the time you just need to record a memo but when you turn on the device it defaults to music mode and you have to hit the back button to switch to voice mode before you can do anything. This is as stupid as it comes, this is a memo recorder, it should default to memo at startup, it doesn’t, it defaults to music, which is stupid.Second: there are numerous dead ends in the UI, only someone who has poked through it thoroughly will get familiar with it enough to use it on a daily basis, those who use it only occasionally will not likely remember everything. And last; to whatever idiot that wrote the user manual for this otherwise nice little device must also have been the person who designed the user interface: you need to find another job, quickly, don’t do this again.Enough of the rant.Despite my criticism of the UI and the user manual, this IS a nice little machine hardware-wise and it deserves having a quick way to use it without getting frustrated, so below are my suggestions to work around it’s defects.I’ll only consider using it as a memo recorder, for music you’re pretty much on your own. Basically the deal,is to mount the device as a usb disk drive, create folders, copy albums to the folders, then hope for the best because, as far as I can determine, while the file system format seems to be Ex-Fat it doesn’t behave well when copying files to it. If you attempt to copy a large amount of files at one time be careful, I’ve had the copy fail with no error but a loss of all files, including any memos. This happened twice when the copy job exceeded 64 MB, smaller copy jobs usually succeeded but many of the music files wouldn’t play. I haven’t run disk diags or anything yet but I suspect there’s some old 16 bit counters in the os left over from the FAT only days. Powering off then back on results in a longer than normal “Initializing” displayed on the screen and everything is gone. Looks like the OS is on its own partition so it still boots, sees the damaged data partition and does a quick reformat. On to a help list:First look the unit over, note that there are 2 slide switches, the one on the left side is up to power on, down to power off. The one on the right side is for Record and Playback. Slide it up to record, down for playback. Now look at the circular control on the face of the unit, There are 5 functions here:The one marked “M” means “Menu” but should really be called the “Back” button, “V” adjusts volume, “< >” move you back and forth through the memos. The round button in the center is the “Play button. That about covers the controls.1. When you first get it, take it from the box and fully charge it.2. Looking at the unit, note that there are 2 slide switches on it, one on the left side and another on the right side. There is also a circular control panel on the front which 5 functions.- To start, slide the switch on the left side up, this turns it on and it will have “Music” on the screen.- Next hit the “M” portion of the circular switch until you see “Voice” on the screen and press the round button on the face. This puts the unit in memo mode.-- Next slide the right side button up, the unit is now in record mode and recording. If you want to pause recording press the round button on the front, the memo will start blinking on the screen when paused. Pressing it again will stop the blinking and continue the same recording. Sliding the right side button down will end the recording and save it.-- Each time you slide the right button up a new memo will be created. You can leave the recording in pause even when the screen goes dark, if you slide the right switch while the recording is paused it will still be saved.-My personal method of using the recorder is to turn it on, switch to Voice mode and leave it there without powering down until I’m done for the day or recharging the unit if the battery gets low.Effectively, this leaves the unit always on and ready to record a new memo or continue one already in progress. Doing this will effect battery run time some so it’s best to save as you go because it is possible to lose files if the the unit runs out the battery and shuts down while a recording is in pause state. If you press the “M” button when not recording it can be switched to “Settings mode”. Here you can set time & date (Military time only)and some other things. One of these I’d recommend is to enable “Extended-Standby” mode. This greatly extends the time the unit will wait before shuttling down when there is a recording in progress but Paused. There is a risk of losing a paused file if it hasn’t been saved. This impacts battery life but it’s worth it.Also, while in settings you can create/delete folders, move files in/out of folders and delete/move individual files. In fact, this is the only place to do file management. This is just a very brief run-through with just enough information to use it as a memo recorder. Save your memos as you go if you ca.

Small and very good recorder
Hi! I use this recorder for a class; I record my professor's lectures. It does pick up background noises, so place the recorder close to the person and possibly in a quiet zone (for me an empty desk). I download the recording on the same day to avoid any loss. I have a mac, so I use iTunes to download the recordings so it is easier to rewind and pause. I use this product just for the recording and I agree with other customers, the instructions are horribly written, however, the main keys (on-off, record, menu) are properly listed in a diagram. So far I am happy with this product.

So small, great sound
Really nice quality! It's so tiny, but as soon as I took it out of the box I felt to be a very good quality build. Super compact and easy to carry, I like that it has a headphone jack and so much memeroy built right in! The instructions are a bit rough, but the device itself is user friendly enough that after playing around with it a bit you can navigate it fairly easily. Includes a USB cable for charging the reachagable battery, but no little box to plug it in to the wall. Can still charge through the computer without any add ons though. Voice recording sounds clear and crisp which of course was my main concern choosing this recoder. Also has a setting specific to music recoding which I am yet to really utalize. Also has a backlit screen, which is a nice feature to have.

great little mp3 player and voice recorder
Great amount of recording space at 32 gigs. Its easy to transfers any recordings to and from my Computer. This is a great little mp3 player and voice recorder for a great price. Love how small it is and that it fits into the palm of my hand.Love the fact that it has music player capabilities, I didn’t even realize it had that when I purchased it. The built in speaker has great sound quality and the play back volume is good. Comes with charging cord.
