Strong.. but not 400lbs strong...
Pretty simple device. Rope and magnet. However the magnet is not near as strong as I had assumed based on the advertisement. I stuck it to a large piece of metal plate in my garage. It stuck well but I struggled less than I had expected while taking it off.We went out to the neared bridge, threw the rope over, and caught a nice large metal screen door. I managed to pull the door halfway out of the water before the magnetic pull failed. It was secured on a very flat portion of the door, and was probably best case-scenario for the magnet. I imagine the door weighed 50lbs max. the magnet did not just slide off. It popped off. I recasted multiple times with similar results.Son was disappointed we couldn’t add a screen door to our junk pile!Overall this kit is a pretty good value for the money. Just so don’t expect to bring up the titanic!

Awesome magnet, fun new hobby
Great magnet for beginner magnet fishing. Rope was pre-tied, so no worries about losing the magnet. You may need some loctite though to keep the eye - hook from unscrewing from the base. The magnet has a good deal of pulling force. We were able to pull up a bike and a shopping cart on our first trip out. For the price, this was a great value and a small investment for a new hobby.

Fun For Boys
I purchased this as a replacement for one my son lost that belonged to a friend. They are very strong magnets!!! Boys love this kind of thing!

Its decent for the price but it will drop some things that ate bigger
This magnet works ok but if your looking to pull some bigger things and not loose them youll either have to buy a grap hook or a bigger magnet itll pull some nicd little things up like small tools

Super Strong
Super Strong. Only thing is I didn't really like the Clasp/Twist Lock. Was a little sloppy but I eventually got it to lock. Exactly as pictured.

It's strong.
I bought this as a cute little adventure toy for my nephew. Well, his father and my husband have both taken over and are having so much fun dredging ponds, lakes and creeks with this. I had to buy them each one so my nephew could play with the one I bought him.
