Can you imagine?
The humorous story line and the detailed and accurate illustrations by David Shannon are a true pleasure! Our family loves bikes and our children and grandchildren love to match the farm animals to the various styles of bikes. We volunteer reading to at risk first graders and this is our book of choice to sit side by side and share. The giggles of children as they discover pig and pig riding the tandem, horse on the racing bike, goat eating the straw bike basket, or cow on the banana seat. The surprise ending leaves everyone anticipating another story yet to come.

Five Stars because my 3 year old LOVES this book
My son is in his first month of preschool and so I've been trying to ease his transition by bringing a little bit of preschool into the home- in this case, reading books at home that he encounters in his classroom. When the book arrived I thought it looked cute but nothing special. Then I read it to him. Apparently, this book is HILARIOUS to three year olds! I mean, it has animals, bikes, and a silly duck. What else could you ask for in a bedtime story?!? We giggled the whole way through (twice) and I look forward to many more nights hearing him beg for more "duck bike book."

Great story but the paperback version sucks...
This book is wonderful--great story, captivating illustrations, and silly to boot. As a preschool teacher, this is a beloved book in my classroom. HOWEVER, when I purchased the paperback version for my own kids, I was sorely disappointed in the quality. Flimsy card stock cover, pages so thin they feel as if they were newsprint. I'm bummed I didn't spend a little more for the hardcover, which I would hope would be a better quality. Debating sending it back...

Crappy Copy
My four year old son and I love this story, we got a copy of it from Scholastic for I think $5, may have been less, anyway the copy we have has strong durable glossy pages with the art (which is one of the best parts!) using up all of a double page spread. When it was time to get a book for a friend's baby shower this is what I chose. BIG MISTAKE. The copy I received from Amazon has thin flimsy pages which are dull (not just not glossy, the art doesn't come close to popping off the page like in our copy) and there is a huge strip of white paper down the center of the book on every spread, right through the middle of the fun artwork. Wth Amazon? Love this story and highly recommend it, but get a good copy of it (try scholastic!).

Great story, terrible book quality
I purchased this storybook as a gift for my nephew after reading and loving the hardcover version with my own kids. This negative review is for the quality of this paperback edition. The paper and cover are extremely low quality--very flimsy. My copy arrived with a strange stain (almost like a coffee stain) inside the front cover, and the pages were all bent and wavy, as though the book was several years old and had been read quite a bit. I would definitely recommend this book for all children, but it's more than worth it to pay the few dollars extra for the hardback version.

Not a real copy of the book
I love this story which is why I purchased it for my son. However the copy I received is very cheap and almost looks like it was printed on a home printer. So I looked inside the cover and it says that it is an examination copy, provided free of charge, and may not be resold. So I'm confused why I paid money for it? I was expecting an actual bookstore quality copy of the book. Very disappointed with this product and Amazon.

Cute book
I borrowed this book from our local library. I thought it was so cute, that I bought it. It is one of my daughter's favorite books. David Shannon books are always entertaining.

thumbs way up!!
This is one of my absolute favorite books. The personalities of the animals are priceless and the illustrations are amazing. I would recommend this book for any teacher of young children.

Terrible quality of book
Story and illustrations, top shelf. We have the Scholastic version and bought this for a friend. The quality of the Amazon version is less than if it were printed by a blind cat at a newspaper recycling plant. The pages are made out of used napkins and the text is even crooked. There are even some pages missing from the intro that the real copy has.It is getting returned.
