Nice inexpensive speaker, I have these installed in my garage and they sound great! I don't think I would install these in a high end home theater but for the average person these will work just fine giving you years of great sound. Sound quality seems to be good, easy to install and they look great. Only part I didn't care for was the way the grills 'adhered' to the plastic housing, there is a little blob of goo on the edge of the speaker grills that hold the grills in place. Now this does seem to work just fine but only time will tell of the goo looses its holding power or possibly permanently adhered to the plastic/grill leaving the speaker inaccessible.... and maybe it will be just fine! Either way for the money hard to beat!

Easy installation and sound quality is definitely better than the speakers we originally had.

I recently upgraded my entire home theater sound system to a very nice polk audio/onkyo system. I still needed some surround speakers and wanted in walls, however I will likely be moving in a year or two so I thought I would try a cheaper pair of speakers since I wouldn't be bringing them with me. My system did an auto calibration and these speakers did calibrate at a low frequency cross over of 80 hz as stated by the manufacturer. I tested the speakers first on a separate stereo of mine so I would only hear those two speakers playing. They sounded pretty good compared to the Sherwood speakers that I normally use. I wouldn't recommend them for your front speakers because I can hear a small amount of weird resonance in my ceiling when the speakers are playing loud (during calibration). As such I recommend them as a good and cheap alternative for surround speakers where they don't have to be as loud and don't play as much sound as a front speaker.

We had installed speakers in 5 different locations in our home, except the master bath. With a little searching , these fit the need and were at a very good price. Ordered them, fast delivery , installed and rewarded with very good sound fed from a Yamaha receiver thru a Pyle 6 speaker splitter

I had a new surround system installed in my lower level and these speakers work perfectly. Maybe I'm not a connoisseur of great sounding speakers, but these give great sound for the size of the room at a price which doesn't break the bank. One of the speakers came with a scratch on the outer ring, but Amazon promptly replaced it without hesitation or hassle.

So I paid between 25 and 30 dollars for a pair of the 5.25" size. I've toyed with electronics for most of my adult life and have listened to speakers from every size and price range. I've never heard speakers this cheap sound so good. Granted they are not excellent sound quality but for what I paid they are relatively amazing. If you're just looking for bare budget and want something that performs in the medium-low to medium sound quality you can't go wrong. Installation was relatively easy if you're used to doing ceiling/crawlspace work.

I installed these speakers for inside my home about 12 years ago and they've been fantastic. Recently, the plastic speaker border appeared cracked, so I bought replacements. While using a screwdriver to turn one of the mounting screws, the entire plastic speaker housing crumbled into all the pieces you see in the picture. What you see here happened while the speaker was still mounted and was NOT dropped. While the sound from the Pyle speakers is excellent, I think Pyle could spend a few more cents on the plastic housing. I have plastic parts, figurines, etc. from the 1970's that don't break apart like this. A durable plastic might raise the price a few cents, which I'm sure that user's would gladly pay to avoid this experience. 2026 Update: 4 months after I bought replacements, the sound gets all distored when playing bass. I guess the quality is not what it used to be...

You can't get a better speaker for the price anywhere, and I surely did my research. These are 2 way speakers and are very high quality. The speakers themselves are not made of paper and have rubber (not foam) surrounds. The frequency response seems great and they deliver a hefty amount of bass and treble for their size. I initially purchased the Pyle PDICS6 ceiling speakers and was disappointed in the flat, lifeless sound. I installed the PDIC51RD's in the same mounting holes (same size) and am astounded with the sound. Only buy the Pyle PDICS6 speakers if you are looking for voice grade quality. The PDIC51RD's are outstanding. And you can't best 2 for $24 as of 10/2014.

Great Speakers. Build a whole house background music speaker system with these speakers. Great quality for that purpose. Would potentially buy better speakers if it was for an elaborate dolby atmost setup but for average listening you can't beat value for money.

Not So Good

Excellent speakers for this price range. Perfect for multizone audio systems. I bought 7 of them (14 speakers in total). Its got good mid bass might have to play with the 2 band eq but overall really worth the money.
