Wayne Rooney: My Story

Just what I wanted in an Autobiography
Wayne Rooney is my favorite footballer, so I jumped at the chance to grab this book for our kindle. You have to know when you're buying it, it is a fairly straight-forward autobiography, so some of the grammar isn't the greatest. Obviously, some of his more controversial moments are quite one-sided, but it is quite interesting to get his take on some of the more questionable times in his career. Beware, this might not be the book for small children wanting to learn more about Wayne Rooney, as there is some fairly strong language throughout, and he touches on issues like prostitution. But, for the adult reader, I thought it was quite a good read. I would highly recommend to anyone who enjoys Man United and especially Waza.

Enjoyable.
I thought this was a fun, easy read. My son's a big fan, and I had told my husband to read it to get some insight into player development in the UK. I thought that a lot of his stories were interesting and did not find it to be nearly as "raw" as some previous reviewers had suggested. Being such a celebrity at a young age can be hard to navigate, and I think he has done it quite well given the incredible microscope they're under. Looking forward to getting the next book.

Best Book I Have EVER Read in my life
This book is hard to explain. Its exactly like an autobiography should be. This book goes over Rooneys life from baby days to 2008 when this book was released. I read this book and could not put it down. I, living in USA, don't have soccer supporters in my family so when Im like "Its funny because Rooney did....." I get this look that tells me "I'm not like you, I don't like soccer, do I have to listen to this" but either way this book is humorous to me and inspiring. If you like Wayne Rooney and you don't get this then you are missing out on alot!

Don't bother
Look at me, I've got everything, but I'm not affected by it. I married my long-time girlfriend and she's clever and has got heaps of money of her own. I've spent thousands on gifts for her and she's done the same for me. But I'm just the same as I was when I was a kid. I still love going out into the street and kicking a ball around like I always did .... bla, bla, bla.

Enjoyable light read
I liked the easy writing style in this book. It makes for a light read but I thought that it could have had more depth. He is a superstar and wished that came through more.

Good Book for a Teenager
Great gift for an adolescent male soccer player who loves Wayne Rooney and his style of play. Oh! I forgot Manchester United is also the key.

Simple, easy to read, got me through lazy summer days!
So ok, while other reviewers say this is no 'masterpiece' in literature, what did they expect? This is just a simple, yet well written insight into his life. He doesnt go into great depth surrounding his home life, or childhood, but suggesting from the book cover, it wasnt his main intention. He simply delivers the facts surrounding his football career - how he got to where he is today, the highs, lows etc.I'll admit, this is no-where near as in depth into his life as say, David Beckhams autobigraphy (even with tiny lettering its still thick!) but at just 20, hes got a whole life ahead of him, and plenty more book deals! While this book is quite thick and is roomy on the bookshelf, the large lettering makes it decieving, and you'll be flying through in time. Pay over Β£10 too and you've probably not got your moneys worth, its been made to look like a hefty book of writing.I think as time goes on, Rooney will soon develop a better style of writing that'll 'hopefully' include more interesting facts about his lifestyle. But for now, this will do.
