One in a million!
In a sea of a million Photoshop books, this is a pearl! I have been teaching/mentoring Photoshop for since the last millennium, and this is one of the best. There a million 'things' you can do in Photoshop, but this book goes to the core of what folks need to do almost everyday in the program! Most folks don't work in Photoshop as their main software program, but need to get photos prepped, looking good, and out the door to social media and or the print, this is the book you want.Do your self a favor and invest, yes it's an investment, in this book...Discipline yourself to work through the book from cover to cover, you will always pick up something useful or remind yourself something you 'thot' you already knew.Just when it couldn't get better, watch the Glyn presenting at Adobe Max 2018 sessions online and you will have a video companion to some of the wealth of information in the book!Lastly, you might as well buy two copies, as the first one is going to get marked up, coffee stains, dog-eared, etc!

Easy, but be careful.
This is one of the easier books on Photoshop and most of its coverage is on the most commonly used tools. But be careful. I'm on page 20 and have already come across two errors. One was easy work around but the second took a while. I couldn't figure what i was doing wrong until I accidentally discovered that the instructions in the book were wrong. This suggests sloppy editing. I'm dreading stumbling across more errors. Or, I might just return the book.

An indispensable companion to any photographer's progress in Photoshop
I first encountered author Glyn Dewis after becoming hooked on his "He Shoots, He Draws" podcast. His passion for creativity and imparting what he has learned to others comes through, so I knew this book would be worth every penny. I have not been disappointed.Written with the photographer in mind, The Photoshop Toolbox lays out the key techniques which should be added to every photo post processor's arsenal. Glyn's philosophy of using a "what would happen if..." approach to experimenting with Photoshop tools opens doors to a myriad of possibilities in helping you achieve your creative vision. Rather than beating us over the head with a method, Glyn explores various ways to achieve the same looks and ignites a greater sense of freedom and adventure in learning to harness Photoshop. While this may not be the only guide you will need in your exploration of Photoshop, it is certainly an indispensable one. Between The Photoshop Toolbox and Glyn's many live streaming tutorials on youtube, you will be well on your way to achieving mastery of these must have tools (layer masks, brushes and blend modes).

What took me so long
I purchased the book at the end of October and failed to crack it open until today due to my love hate relationship with Photoshop. The book is great. It is well organized and clearly written and illustrated. Glyn does an amazing job of breaking things down and this is why this book stands apart. If you are frustrated by Photoshop buy this book. You will fall in love with the possibilities.

Awesome Book
This is a great book to have around if you are a design student or in the design field. There is a link in the book to download free files to work along with the author. He gives great details to what should be done and easy to follow with him. I have read the first few chapters and now I have just started with the files. You will love this book.

Great for beginners
As a complete beginner, this book has been incredible! It takes you step by step through the basics and explains what you are actually doing. Probably too basic if you have a general knowledge of Photoshop CC though

Well written with excellent follow-along instructions
The headline e says it all. I highly recommend this book that takes the reader on a skill building journey through the lesser known roads of Photoshop CC.

Detailed guidance on some of photoshops most important and often overlooked creative features.
In the year 2000 I was ahead in my college course work one day so I took a copy of computer arts magazine out from the library and followed along with a tutorial on layer blending modes.... this was the exact moment my brain imploded and all the creativity in me found a way out of my head onto the computer screen! It's taken 18 years but now there is finally a book that has all this creative (and technical) information all in one place. It takes me back to that magical moment I first realized the creative potential within me and it DOES NOT DISAPPOINT.If you are into Photoshop and creativity and hate trawling the internet for random tutorials this book is an absolute must have! There's a good reason it is number 1 on Amazon!

Disappointing - not easy to use.
Although this does contain some very good information it is not a book for me. I don't find it easy to use both in terms of how things are explained and, mor importantly, how the pictures relate to the text. I've spent a long time simply trying to match up text with photo and then taking ages to carry out the instructions. I fully accept that others may find it useful but, for me, there are better books available.

Excellent and well written
I am not a techie or IT friendly but this book is so well illustrated and things explained step by step without being heavy or dry. It's as if the writer, Glyn Dewis, is sitting next to you explaining and chatting and going at your own pace. I read reviews before purchasing which said how good this book was and how good Mr Dewis is at explaining but I was still sceptical but I needed to learn Layers etc. on Photoshop and bought it. I was not disappointed and would definitely recommend this book.

Great book
The book is like Glyn himself - full of knowledge imparted in an easy to understand way. Lots of step by step instructions.Whenever I want PhotoShop information, this is the man I turn to and I automatically order any new book he brings out, so confident am I that it will be good.

Excellent book
Great book for learning bas Photoshop, the book is laid out in an easy to follow format and there is a link to download the photos from the book so you can work on them and see the results. Glyn has produced yet another great tutorial book that sits as a great companion for his other two books.
