Criminology 2nd Edition

I tend to do 3 Stars for a great product and 2 more for great service and delivery. This book is great (I assume since our teacher loves it), but I was more than disappointed with my delivery.I placed this order (I believe) on the 4th, and put one day shipping that I paid an absurd amount extra for, so I could get this book for my upcoming test on the 10th. More than enough time.Not really.Sure, it did get here in one day after it shipped, but the problem is I ordered it on the 4th and it didn't ship until the 10th. So I didn't get to even look at the book before my test.I still got an 85, but blah. Now I have to do extra credit.But really, good book. Just order it plenty before you need it.

This book is thorough and can be used as a text book in several classes. It does an excellent job of putting the theories in historical context. However, there are critical criminology beliefs sprinkled throughout the book in the guise of objectivity.

Fantastic, a must for any student studying criminology, love it, will never part with this, it's written in the way that if like myself you have never been to uni before, he makes it so easy to understand. Now I am studying this at Uni

I got this for university as I am studying criminology and it was recommended by my lecturer.The book is fantastic as it covers a wide variety of topics which is useful for adding additional references to my work. The chapters are well set out and easy to follow. The topics are very well covered however not in the greatest depth, as expected as you can only go so far if you wish to include the range of topics covered in this book.It is fascinating to read and I have got great use of this book so far.In my opinion a must buy for studying criminology.Please click on the “Yes” button below if this review has been helpful thank you

It's very comprehensive and it's a joy to have a consistent voice go through an entire subject, rather than bits from different people. Should definitely be on any crim undergraduate's shelf and any social policy worker's reading list

Bought this for a course and it was recommended to my by numerous lecturers. After reading the reviews I decided to buy it - very expensive but all academic books are! This book is essential for the study of Criminology. It has helped me so far and will help me later on through the year!

it is ok as an overview, good enough detail as a wide introduction. Suffers perhaps from the same type of materialism and positivism as most literature in this field.
