Just about one of the worst things you can do to ANY tree is to not water deeply enough. First year trees should be watered weekly. Not all trees have the same water requirements. You're going to have to do the research. **Q: How can i make my water rings drip at a slower rate** A: Don't get why you would want that, and there's no way that I know of to inhibit the rate of drip with these things. We're down to our last two "rings" and what a waste of money. They barely lasted a few years. Not to mention adding more plastic to the landfill. **Q: how long does it take for them to empty?** A: 5 hours the instructions say. I know it is less than a day. **Q: will the texas heat negatively impacr tree from heating up the water in bag** A: Water should drip out in about 5 hours, I don't know how much damage can happen in 5 hours. Many days this year in Seattle 85-95 degrees and my 2 and 3 year old trees were fine . Water in morning or at night if it gets extremely hot. If sun is a problem, also water when sun not on watering ring, or cover the ring with something white to reflect rather than absorb the sun rays.
