05/08/2015 Well, first impression isn't great. After unboxing and setting it up, I'm getting an SD card reading error. Noticed a Customer Service number on the documentation and I called it. Rep on other end insisted that I send it to them to be REPAIRED, not replaced. He said they only replace after unsuccessful repair attempts. It's on its way back to the vendor right now for repair. I'll update when I get it back. Current status - disappointed.06/02/2015 It's nearly month later after sending it in for repair, I still don't have it back yet.06/08/2015 Received item back from being repaired and it still doesn't work! It works with the 8gb card that comes with the device but not the 32gb card that I bought for it. The card I bought works perfectly in my PC so it's not the card. Not happy!06/11/2015 Emailed vendor to report device still doesn't function as expected and I've yet to hear back from them!

I bought this just over a month ago. I use it daily. Yes, it can be tempermental, but with patience this camera does what it says. I have mounted it in my vehicle with no problems. Last weekend I even put it on my garage door after it was opened so I could record the area while I did yard work, sometimes the neighborhood creap trys to go into peoples garages, well I found out after about 15 minuts of it hanging there that well the suction came loose and fell the 10 feet to the concrete floor. I picked it back up, it was still recording, so I put it back in place and added some tape and zip ties to keep it up until I was done with the yard work. If you are looking for a "police" grade dash cam, this is not it, those cost anywhere between 1000.00-6000.00, but like I said for the price it does what it says. No problems so fa

I give the Top Dwag TDCAM01 Premium 720P DVR a 2 Star rating. Set-up was very confusing with the little booklet of instructions & though Top Dawg does post a PDF file with the booklet, it is very confusing to set up. I did get the camera set up & it does record, but with many missing chapters. The loop portion (record over SDIC works fine). It just seems to me like every time I think I have recorded something interesting, it's not there. The night vision on the Top Dawg is totally useless & a waste of time. I feel that I have spent $80.00 poorly & would not do it again. I wanted to have a dash cam to record not only my actions & reactions to certain situations, but also others. I am a safe driver with an outstanding drivers record & many miles under my belt as a professional. I wanted the security of having the video in case of an accident so that if I did do something wrong, I could learn from it. If I ever in a situation where I needed to rely on my Top Dawg I'm sure it would be the missing chapter...

This product design is great but the the overall performance could be better The ease of use is a 10..recording quality is not real smooth, and 720p is the number everybody looks at for HD quality but that is only true at 60 fps, if the fps is less than 30 the quality is not real clear,,,The camera at night is useless unless you have tons of light in the viewing area. The audio recording was gargled and low in volume on the recording. The battery time is minimal although you can run it off the power cord and you have to deal with a cable hanging,,but, if all you are using this recorder for is daytime use, most would find it useable.

The shipping box was fine. But the item's box came with the side seam unglued. The camera worked fine, except it would not hold a charge. Then a day later it stopped recording all together. Even after a reset. I received no instructions with it.A friend has one and his has worked fine for several months now.

I was got this one to replace the one that "hit the ground" one to many times (fell off - usually because the windshield needed to be cleaned but sometimes because of temperature changes, also got knocked, dropped, etc..) . The aforementioned occurrences added up and the internal lens got knocked out of focus, it worked in the Heat & Cold just fine but just got "knocked around" too much. The one I had to replace and this new one record and take pictures well and I really like being able to rotate the screen without having to have it plugged into another display -- especially with the wires, extra screen, mount, room taken up, etc... . They (Top Dawg Electronics) do not have any independent screens on the ones the offer currently, so these are your only option.

it took a while to figure out how to set it up to do what we wanted and in less than 2 months it stopped working. I worked just long enough so that it passed the return date and now we are having trouble finding out who to contact to get it repaired or replaced.

I guess it is ok. I expected a lot better camera with more features. What else can I say anyway?
