WORKS AS DESCRIBED, EXCELLENT BATTERY LIFE AND EASY OPERATION. A++++
I LIKE THE FACT THE LENS PROTOCTOR CASE DRYS OFF CLEAR WITH OUT WATER MARKS FROM THE FROST AND DEW AS THE SUN DRYS IT OFF AND THEN THE LENS IS CRYSTAL CLEAR. I OWN A HOME REPAIR COMPANY AND PLAN ON USING THIS FOR SECURITY AND JOB SITE PROGRESS. I AM USING IT NOW FOR A 10 MONTH BUILDING ADDTION ONTO OUR LOCAL FIRE DEPARTMENT. I ALSO PLAN ON USING IT FOR FILMING TRAINING EVENTS FOR OUR FIRE DEPARTMENT. IT HELPED SOLVE A PROBLEM THE FIRST WEEK WE USED IT. AS THE WORKERS PUT THERE COMPACTOR IN THE BUCKET OF THE EXCAVATOR AND WHEN THEY CAME BACK THE NEXT MORNING THE BUCKET WAS CURLED UP WITH COMPACTOR INSIDE OF THE BUCKET. THE WORKERS THOUGHT SOMEONE BROKE IN AND MOVED THE EXAVATOR, BUT WHEN WE REVEIWED THE TIMELAPSE VIDEO WE SEEN THAT IT WAS THE HYDRAULICS DRIFTING AND THAT NO ONE GOT IN THE EXCAVATOR.

Great for multi-month time lapse videos
Update January 2016 - We completed the new house and moved in. This time lapse camera captured the entire process! I am busy editing out the extraneous segments to produce a short beginning-to-end video for us. Now that the house has been built, I plan to use the camera to capture various landscaping projects, and also as a security camera (bought the motion-sensor accessory). Well worth the money. Original review: Great product, we are using it to record the construction of our new house. Very easy to use, we highly recommend this. Each week I download the daily videos and a compile them into a single video. I especially like the fact that you can set a start / stop time per day, and that you can adjust the time interval between images. I didn't want to waste a lot of shots on night shots when there is nothing to record. I now have the camera set to take one shot every 15 minutes, from 7:30 am to 6:00 pm. Once the house project is complete, I plan to re-use the camera as a security camera. Double duty!

Easy and cost effective way to build a different type of portfolio. See our video for an example!
Our family has been in the concrete foundation business for 52 years now and I WISH we had this for the 1000's of projects we've been a part of! I researched a bit for time lapse cameras on the market and for the price, along with the reviews, this seemed to be the one to buy. Packaging was orderly which is always a nice way to start off. Within minutes I had the camera setup to start shooting some test videos (as recommended by another reviewer) and was able to adjust the settings to achieve what I was looking for. The camera itself feels well made and has a very basic user interface which almost anyone can fly through with ease. Battery life is outstanding, but also expected if looking to use this camera for a good duration. The weatherproof housing is a must and feels solid enough to take an impact. Mounting the camera is quick, depending on where you put it. Options include the base mount that attaches to a flat surface with screws or bungee cords that wrap around and attach to the outer housing. So far I've used this camera on 2 different projects, one for just a days work for a large concrete pour (*see video) and the other has been ongoing for almost a month now. I wanted to be able to access the camera regularly to keep an eye on the batteries, as well as download each week's progress as they ended, so I opted for the bungee cord mounting method. Using a piece of rebar that I beat into the ground I was able to strap the camera to it for a quick setup. Overall we are pleased with the results and our customers are as well! My only complaint would be the moisture buildup that sometimes fogs the lens up early in the mornings, but eventually goes away. Rain drops sometimes make their way onto the lens as well, but we put together a makeshift cover to keep the top of the housing dry. We are located in CT, so there's been a few recent weeks when its dropped down to single digits and this camera doesn't mind it one bit. I will continue to use this camera on our current ongoing project and upload the results to this review once we have finished the foundation walls. Thanks for your time reading this review and I hope it was helpful, as I base every purchase I make off other reviewers before me. *For reference, our video was set to 1 minute between photos and had the following settings; Frame rate: 30 FPS Quality: Better Custom exposure: Middle Time Stamp: On Low light recording: On Scene: Daylight Timer: 0700-1800 Output Resolution: 480 (I will bump this up to 720P) LED Display: Off Band filter: None

Great Security camera for places w/o Electricity
I was skeptical but we have used this almost a year and works perfectly. We use it because we have a property without electricity that has experienced vandalism and also neighbors who have a thing for trespassing. It lets us keep an eye on the property. You can customize the frequency of time lapse, but at one per 30 seconds I can leave the camera out for 2+ weeks easily. I have used rechargeable and non-rechargeable batteries. When I tried to take more picture (1 per second) my issue was that the SD card filled up too quickly, so I bumped it down to 30 seconds with no problems. We keep this hidden and then use two dummy cameras so that if someone wanted to "destroy the camera" they won't find it. My only quality concern is that I often have trouble with it balancing intense sunlight and shadows, however, I'm super happy with this product and could not find a better solution for security with no electricity.

Old Technology, Poor Quality
I purchased this camera in April 2021 with the intent to capture timelapse images of a bridge being built in downtown Miami. Logisitics prevented me from installing it immediately so for a few months I repurposed it, and it sat inside my apartment, INDOOR, out of the way on a shelf, presumably capturing time lapse of activities in my apartment. The unit was not dropped or exposed to any water or other event that might have led to any mishap. However, When I checked the camera after a couple of months , i discovered that the section of the camera near the battery door had disintegrated, as shown in the attached images. All image capture had been lost (assuming it captured any images in the first place). I determined the camera is still operable when carefully secured inside of the plastic weather casing because the casing forces shut the battery door. I WAS able to capture two weeks worth of bridge construction. However with the defective battery door, this set-up is very precarious and I risk losing footage if the battery connection becomes loose. I also fear continued disintegration of the unit. Add that to the general uncertainty I felt every time I started video capture as to whether or not it was really capturing any footage. I did some additional research and was able to find an alternative that actually captures 1920x1080 images, so I'vew purchased and am using that one now -- this camera has between a total waste of time and money.

Set it and forget it!!
This is a great camera especially for the money. The only downside are the instructions and even the videos on YouTube aren't that helpful. Just make sure you play with it and test out well before your actual timelapse need. Update 6.18.19 The videos are good and all was great until today...the SD card went to full capacity after already dumping some files about a month ago and then when trying to start back up I am getting this error..."SD ERROR". I wish I knew exactly the issue on how I fixed it, but I used 6 different SD cards and the one that finally got it working again was an 8MB...all the others were 32 and 64...not sure why that would matter. Possibly formatted differently

Good entry.....but limitations evident.
The camera works as advertised and I'm generally pleased with the purchase. My main complaint thus far is there appears to be no way to "check on" the status of a work in progress without stopping the filming of the current project (ie. requires you to have a lot of trust that the device is actually taking the pictures you've scheduled it to take, that image quality is good, and the playback frame rate you've selected is ideal for the project type). This feels like a lot of 'risk' for a long construction project. Also, when the project is completed and the pictures 'processed'.....the individual photos taken are deleted in the process of creating the video file.....for those comfortable working with separate video/image processing files to separately generate the time lapse video (to experiment with different FPS rates, video length, etc) you won't have that option after the Brinno has processed your project because the picture files have all been deleted. In short...it's a good entry market device but may leave experienced/detailed users 'wanting more'.

Great Value, But The Wide Angle Lens Limits Image Quality
Bought 1, then a second after seeing the results. With four Energizer lithium AA batteries and a 32 G SD card, the camera will run for a year on the 5 minute (no night pics) setting. Amazing. The setup is mostly intuitive, but a few minutes with the manual is helpful. Bottom line is that this is a terrific value and the next step up in complexity and quality is a quantum leap. There are lots of options if you only need a system to work for a few hours, but when you're interested in documenting days, weeks and months, it gets bulky and messy. It's a very wide angle view and understand the resolution is low, so you will generally not be able to identify people you don't know; if you need a high resolution image, this isn't your choice. I have these set up monitoring the exterior of a remote cabin. If you're mounting outside, using the clear housing and expect rain, I recommend polishing the lens area with Rain-X or something similar. You may not be comfortable with the included mounting options. I mounted a couple of $6 camera swivels on a cheap angle brace.

Great time-lapse camera + some tips for future versions :)
Great camera, easy to use ...does what it should. I love everything about it - quality materials, good lens, easy out-of-box solution and great battery time. Also, I love the holes on the outer case so it can be hooked anywhere. Additional feature that would be great in the next version would be: to set the time when camera is taking pictures and when it's not taking pictures - I have in mind three modes: 1. set the time when pictures are taken, for example from 7 am to 5 pm (working time in construction) 2. set the dates when camera is taking pictures and when it's not - for example if you want to create a time-lapse of tile flooring, yo might have to wait for day or two for some materials to settle and dry before you go to the next stage, so these days might be skipped. 3. PAUSER button - for example if you want a time lapse of facade construction, you might get interrupted by bad weather for several days, so pausing a recording might be handy Anyway, it's already a great product and thank you for that!

Time lapse camera per cantieri

It doesn't work after I changed the batteries
What a waste of money. After I have changed the batteries it has not been working at all. I have approached the seller and did not reply. I am begging everyone to stop purchasing this product it is pure simple WASTE of your precious MONEY.
