This is for the Ring 2 NOT the Ring PRO, do not use for Ring PRO.
This although are very nice Resistor, Are NOT Compatible with the Ring Door Bell "PRO" if you have a Ring 2 this is what you need. IF you have a Ring PRO, this will burn out the transformer. Not the fault of the resister just is not the correct application for the Ring PRO, I had to get a PHD in Ring to figure all this out, and also go through 2 transformers. So to save you guys Time, use the Pro Power KIT if you have a Ring PRO not a resistor.I will return this Item due to Ring Tech support says its not the desired application for the PRO, and yet they state it is in their Description.

your search is over. this resistor we'll get your ring doorbell working
This resistor is awesome. It emulates the traditional doorbell so the ring doorbell will function properly. I've tried other resistors and Transformers and nothing else has worked for any period of time until this one. It is easily installed on either of the two leads from the Transformer, and you don't have to worry about polarity, so either direction that you wire it in works perfectly.

Great Quality Resistors
The Ring Doorbell Resistors I received appear to be great quality. The seller contacted me by email afterwards to ensure I was happy with the purchase and he provides instructions on connecting the resistor between the transformer and the Ring Doorbell to ensure I did not damage the Ring Doorbell. Even though I am an Electrical Engineer, the follow-up was a welcomed benefit.

It works well
I needed this for hardwiring a Ring Doorbell. It's larger than I expected and it was a bit difficult to fit it inside the junction box but somehow I made it stay put. It has been working well, and in case it fails I have a spare :/

Works
One is 24.5ohms, other is 24.8ohms...that will do for my purposes. I'm stuffing one into an old test light tube I gutted and attaching a NC brake light switch and making a multimeter lead. The voltage will have two paths it can follow, the path of least resistance w/ button closed (not pressing it), or pressing it and forcing it thru the load (the 25ohms). Its now a dynamic test lead.I'd rather do this than spend $60 on a Load Pro by ES

Resistor for my Ring Door Bell
Used as my required resistor for my hardwired Ring in conjunction with the doorbell transformer. Works great. The Ring settings now indicate hardwired in settings.

Too big
The physical size of this transformer is too big to fit inside the doorbell mounting box. I had to solder it in line near the power adapter. I'm not sure about the size of other transfomers for sale on Amazon, but you should definitely look for one that is smaller. It is working well.

resistor does NOT work with my RING video doorbell 2. Return RING to store is best choice
The resistor itself is OK. however, it will not work with my Ring video door bell2. I don't think it is resistor's issue. it is the design problem of RING. I measured the resistance between two terminals when power is off, it was 28ohm. I also measured the AC voltage between two power terminals, it was 17V. However, the ring door bell still could not recognize the hard wiring of power, still treated it as battery powered. I called RING tech support and they spent almost two hours and then told me I should buy the power supply from RING.
