Update: 2yrs later still working like a dream no issues at all. I will say the remote is "glass" I dropped it one time a piece broke off if and that kept if from holding the battery or using buttons right (supper glue fixed that) Plus if you are using a LG tv it will run on some of the same RF signals your tv uses and at times you will have a issue, but trying to point it away from the tv or holding down the button will easily fix this. Almost 2yrs later still working (daily use) and no issue or not even a battery change needed. Get this! I will say I wish there were buttons to use on device if remote ever fails or breaks, but now media players are becoming mainstream. We were ahead of the curve people. Still Watching 1.5 tera bites of free video all the time ( with no commercials) LOVING IT.When you get it first you will notice it is the size of credit card. Seriously the remote for it is bigger than it is. You can read the manual that comes with it, but it would be easier to read it under a microscope (very small print) You plug it in and connect your cables and your SD our usb device. Turn it on, it is preset for HDMI if you use the supplied AV (press the AV button on remote after turning on ) then you will be looking at a really good UI. Select file or music or picture or movie. Then select the device go to the file and view it. Pictures you can view in a slideshow that will have a different transition between each picture. Movie will play all kinds of file types. It does play FLV I even got it to play a "playback" type from a youtube video. It will play all the videos in a folder you select. Meaning you don't have to go to the menu to play each one in that folder. You could watch a whole season of a show if it is in the folder you picked. It will allow you subtitles (and customize them too). It has several screen modes 4:3-16:9-default-fit-video full screen-screen full screen <- that one fills the video to screen (not cutting image either). It will fast forward up to 32x which is crazy fast 30min will go by in a blink. The "next" button and "previous" will go to the next or previous video in the file not a chapter. Which is great, so you have no need to go back to main menus. Volume and mute and tons of other buttons for everything this little box can do. You might think it would be melting from it's size and use, but I have had it on and running non stop for over 3 hours and it is still cool enough to touch and pick up. The case feels metal and solid built. I will tell you when it is on and running DO NOT !!! move it about or touch it. It tends to skip for a second and then reboot to the splash screen. So put it where you want it and leave it while using it. Range of the remote is great I'm at least 6ft away and it works no prob. It comes with a battery and it is one of those big flat round ones (CR2025). For the price and the functions it is a must get. I'm waiting on my HDMI cable to get here so I can't speak on "full HD" or "simplink" with a LG tv yet. I have not used file or music yet.UPDATE: Feb 7 2013 It is still working great. Have it hooked to a 1Tb hard drive. Its all I watch now lol. Using the HDMI cable made the picture smaller on screen so I just stick to the cable it comes with. It will not work with "simplink" on your LG TV. I have also found it will play bluray files and 3gp files from phones.

I record videos on a DVB free-to-air satellite receiver, and they come down as mpeg2 at about 1.75 to 3.5 Mbps. I had the Micca MPlay for about a year and a half and had to convert the videos (about 1700 hours) to mp42 h.263 Simple@L1 VBR, and exactly 29.97fps CFR (with Handbrake) to play them on the MPlay. Then I started making other videos with an HD camcorder and webcam in H.264/AVC and could not play them on the TV.The IMP-150 is a BIG upgrade! It plays everything I have, has HDMI output, doesn't care what the frame rate is (max is about 31), doesn't care what the frame size is, and is easy to use. Its interface uses regular ol' familiar file system navigation, it boots up fast (about 5 sec.), and it wastes no time scanning all the files on the usb hard drive.The Resume is nice, and it doesn't just resume in the last movie you partly watched, it seems to remember where you stopped in every movie!It came with the new-style remote that doesn't have the black-on-black reading problems of the earlier model. It works fine if pointed near the player, and I rarely have to press twice. The button layout does take some getting used to, tho. Your best friend for stopping and backing up in the file tree is the "Return" button.The tiny player gets a little warmer than a usb hard drive, but not hot.The only bug I have seen so far is that when playing it will stutter and blink the screen once, and rarely stop, when my air conditioner kicks on, so maybe its power supply is a bit sensitive to voltage fluctuations, or maybe because my a/c thermostat is nearby.The only real complaint is that it doesn't play text files of any kind, not even plain txt files. When you put it in "File" mode, it will list all files, and play them, whether audio or video, but not txt files. So, what's the "File" mode for, when it has "Music" and "Movie" modes? It's a bit of a disappointment because I have text files in most of my folders that describe the videos therein.I only wish I could have bought one a couple years ago, and all my videos were H.264 because that looks a LOT better, even at lower bitrates.Overall, I'm very pleased with it. I thought I was gonna have to pay upwards of $100 to get H.264 capability. It's easy to set up, easy to use, and performs better than expected.--kv5r

Device worked great at first, did everything I wanted. Played baseline profile AVC MP4 files fine. I was using for kids, connected via composite (A/V) port. It worked great for 6 weeks, then composite port just stopped working. HDMI port still works, but A/V won't output a valid signal. Funny thing, composite port will work if I connect HDMI in addition to the composite - so both are connected to a TV, but the TV is set to display the composite. Disconnect the HDMI, and the TV goes blank.Tested composite port with multiple TVs, both CRTs and LCDs, and with different cables, so appears port just went bad. It initially worked fine (and it is set to NTSC, not HDMI, not PAL). Also tried resetting settings, no luck.The build quality is very good, case seems to be aluminum. Remote is clunky to use. Menu system is OK, not great but good enough. Device is very small, which is nice.Timing was perfect, goes bad after 6 weeks, just beyond Amazon's return window. No manufacturer warranty - no information about who makes this in the packaging, and no IncrediSonic presence on the web. I also found this device on the UK Amazon site, sold under a different name, and multiple reviews there also stated it stopped working after 6 weeks. Coincidence I guess.What good is cheap if it only lasts 6 weeks?

Much smaller than I expected! But a good thing. Can fit inside your pocket its soo small! Works perfectly. Plays all files i throw at it. Very simple to use. Front usb port makes things a snap. Highly recommended.

Da ich so einige Dateien habe, welche mein TV nicht abspielt, musste ich diese über mein Notebook schauen. Aber das machte mir überhaupt keinen Spaß, zu kleines Bild, mieser Ton und die Sitzposition ließ auch zu wünschen übrig. Also musste etwas anderes her. Bei meiner Suche im Internet bin ich auf den Mediaplayer von IncrediSonic gestoßen.Ich bin echt begeistert von dem Teil. Für den Preis hätte ich das nicht erwartet. Das Gerät liest endlos viele Formate, alle die, die ich benötige. Es sind auch welche dabei, mit denen ich nichts anfangen kann. Die Inbetriebnahme war super einfach. Habe das Gerät per HDMI mit meinem Fernseher verbunden und den TV suchen lassen. Der Player wurde schnell erkannt und schon nach wenigen Sekunden kam ich ins Auswahlmenü. Dieses ist sehr übersichtlich angeordnet. Leicht findet man seine gewünschten Dateien. Es wird auch die Möglichkeit einer Vorauswahl angeboten. Dann klickt man direkt auf's Video oder Musik- Zeichen. Ich gehe meistens auf den Ordner Forscher und suche mir dann den gewünschten Film raus. Vorher sollte man natürlich das Medium anschließen, welches die gewünschten Daten enthält. Per USB kann ich meine externe Festplatte anschließen. Auch habe ich den kleinen Kartenslot getestet. Ohne Probleme kann man die SD/ MMC und MS Karten abrufen. Natürlich ist auch ein USB Stick nutzbar. Einen AV-Anschluss gibt es auch. Den benötige ich aber weniger. Im Lieferumfang ist dafür auch ein Kabel dabei. Lieber hätte ich anstatt des UK Netzkabels ein HDMI Kabel im Lieferumfang gehabt.Das Abspielen der Dateien (Filme und Bilder) klappt reibungslos. Kein ruckeln oder ähnliches. Ton und Bild (HD 1080p-Videowiedergabe) sind sehr gut, was natürlich auch von der Datei abhängt (wie gut oder wie schlecht diese Aufnahme ist). Klasse ist auch die beiliegende Fernbedienung. Auch diese ist super angeordnet. Man kann z.B. auch vorspulen und zurückspulen. Leider ist der Schwenkbereich der Fernbedienung nicht so groß, da über Infrarot gesteuert wird. Man muss schon die Richtung des Gerätes anpeilen. Sehr gut finde ich auch, wenn ich einen Film stoppe, das man mich nach der Pause fragt, ob ich an der selben Stelle weiter schauen möchte. Das klappt auch, wenn das Gerät komplett abgebaut ist und wieder neu in Betrieb genommen wird. Eine LED Anzeige signalisiert den Stand des Gerätes (grün = in Betrieb, rot = Standby). Wenn zum Film vorhanden, kann mich über die Fernbedienung die Infos holen und sogar Untertitel einstellen sowie die Sprache auswählen.Absolut Top ist auch die geringe Größe. 9 x 8 cm sind echt winzig. War richtig geschockt, als das kleine Prachtkerlchen bei mir ankam. Mit so einem geringen Format hätte ich nicht gerechnet. Somit ist dieses Gerät schnell eingepackt und bei Freunden wieder rausgeholt. Es wiegt so etwa 250 Gramm. Zudem ist die Verarbeitung echt gut. Das Gehäuse ist aus Metall. Der Mediaplayer ist schnell betriebsbereit. Schnell ist der Film beim abspielen. Der Lieferumfang kann sich sehen lassen. Für die Fernbedienung ist eine Batterie dabei. Leider ist die Bedienungsanleitung auf Englisch. Ich habe meine Festplatte übrigens NTFS formatiert, da ich auch größere Filme als 4 GB abspielen möchte. Dabei gibt es bisher keine Probleme.

I purchased this item to replace my old Western Digital Media Player that doesn't play the HD media files.The price of this media player was really cheap compared to quality it's supposed to give, which encouraged me to make the purchase.Amazon dispatched the Media Player quickly and delivered it on time.As explained in the description, the Media Player has a very small size and managed to play all the HD media files I tested from a usb portable hard drive (i.e. mkv files) which I wasn't able to play with my old device.The size of the remote control is very good compared to other media players (and by the way it's different from the one shown in the Video preview of the item's description) with load of useful options, and it was very easy to use.The only down side I faced with this device (which is not a very big deal to me) was the responsiveness time when performing some actions. For example when I switch the device off, it takes few seconds before it gets switched off.Compared to the device's price, this is considered as a very good Media Player, and I'm very happy with it :)

Awsome little media box. Purchased this to connect external hard drive to TV for viewing media stored at our cottage. Works perfect and comes wth converter for for stopping playing, forward, selecting other media. Not sure if just my box but the power cord sometimes has to removed and then placed back into unit on occassion to show on TV but no biggy figured that out quick.

Da ich es leid war, Filme immer erst stundenlang in ein ganz bestimmtes Format umrechnen zu müssen, das mein Philips-BD-Player gnädigerweise schluckt, machte ich den Versuch mit diesem kleinen Gerätchen: kostet ja kaum mehr als ein gutes HDMI-Kabel...Das Gerätchen ist wirklich winzig, dafür findet sich immer ein Platz. Anschluss (über HDMI-Kabel, das leider nicht mitgeliefert wird) war problemlos, die Bedienung ist weitgehend selbsterklärend. Die Sprache lässt man am besten auf Englisch, die deutsche Übersetzung ist grausam ("auf/ab" für "on/off" etc.). An der primitiven Fernbedienung könnte man noch herummäkeln - aber was soll's, bei dem Preis? Man kopiert sich die Befehle ja doch auf eine Unviersalfernbedienung, da ist das egal.Wenn ich schon gerade am Meckern bin: das Ausgabeformat muss man gelegentlich von Hand umstellen, damit Videos ruckelfrei laufen. Flash-Videos (".flv") kann das Gerät nur teilweise wiedergeben; ich bin noch nicht dahintergekommen, an welchen Parametern es im Einzelfall liegt. Ist für mich auch nicht so wichtig. Das .ape-Audioformat kennt es auch nicht. Und WLAN ist bei dem wohlfeilen Preis natürlich auch nicht drin - wer's braucht...Das war's aber auch schon mit der Kritik, ansonsten nur Sonnenschein: das Gerätchen startet vergleichsweise blitzschnell, es spielt alle wichtigen Video- und Audioformate (ausser die oben genannten) zuverlässig, flexibel im Seitenverhältnis und in prima Bild- und Tonqualität ab, und zwar (wegen der Dateigröße wichtig) auch von NTFS-formatierten Medien. Es ist dabei mangels Lüfter absolut lautlos und wird im Betrieb noch nicht mal nennenswert warm. Was will man mehr?Die bloße Existenz dieses 30-Euro-Gerätchens ist eine schallende Ohrfeige für die Markenhersteller von fünf mal so teueren BD-Playern, die noch nicht mal Selbstverständlichkeiten wie FLAC-, OGG- oder MKV-Dateien kennen und AVCHDs nur unter hunderterlei kryptischen Voraussetzungen (zu deutsch für den Endkunden: gar nicht) akzeptieren. Fünf Punkte und Kaufempfehlung also für das IMP150 - und eine dringende Aufforderung an die Hersteller von Bluray-Playern, bei der Software endlich ihre Hausaufgaben zu machen.---------Nachtrag Dezember 2012:Das Gerätchen kann leider keine progressiven JPEGs darstellen. Das tut weh, weil ein wirklich wichtiges Format - u. a. das Default-Ausgabeformat von Photoshop! Der schnelle Vor- und Rücklauf funktioniert zwar, aber leider nur mit einem Standbild alle 2-3 Sekunden - genaues Navigieren ist so unmöglich. Lästig auch: eine am USB angeschlossene Festplatte läuft auch bei ausgeschaltetem Gerät weiter.Deshalb und wegen des inzwischen gestiegenen Preises leider nur noch 4 Punkte.
