Assembly was easy and fast. The larger outer ring comes in 4 parts that need to be snapped together, then all three rings are hung, batteries inserted, and you're done.It would appear that only one D-cell is actually required to operate the clock proper (and the upper gear set). The lower battery operates several lower gears, but those all appear to be just for show. But the look is rather nice, and hard to tell it's lower quality "IKEA" type put together until you get within a foot or two of it.It also looks like there's gearing setup to allow one to drive the month gear from the day gear with a band, but a choice was made either not to supply it, or that it threw off the look. I'll likely look at attempting that connection with a cheap gear toothed band, but I'm sure over time it would drift off track anyway. And you have to adjust the date wheel for non-31 day months anyway. Just having some of that automated would be nice though. For the price, I wouldn't expect a date tracker to start with, so it's a bonus that it works at all.

This is such a different style of clock. I really like it. It keeps really good time and is pretty quiet. It is in my bedroom and has worked just fine since I got it put on the wall.EDIT: 2/4/20 this is such an unusual style of clock that every time my youngest niece comes over she asks if she can see it. In fact, she said that I own the most interesting things.The clock is still working perfectly fine. I really enjoy looking at it. I do wish that it were made out of a lightweight metal but other than that it's a great clock.

Pros: Works well, is quiet, and looks great.Cons: material is 90% plastic, month setting is manual, felt a little rickety hanging it on a wall.All in all we like it, its a good conversation piece and fun to look at, i find myself chicking it for the date rather than my phone. Once in a while i hear a clicking noise coming from it which im sure is the gears finding debris logged in them such as dust or dirt. It is a large clock, but not large enough to dominate a moderate sized wall.

Unique clock, and big enough for a center piece. It's kinda flimsy, but since it is hanging on the wall, it's ok.

The clock is cool but cheap, and not very practical. Plastic is cheap and thin. You basically have to adjust this clock every month as depending on how many days the month has, it won't be accurate. So unless you want to get up on your ladder and adjust this clock every month, I wouldn't get it.

Did not like that there was no instructions on how to attach the day and month rings. How ever, it was easy to put together once we figured it out!

Really cool looking wall clock. All gears turn except for the month. The time and day rings are accurate.

It's a GREAT conversation piece! Not a whole lot can beat that... but the hour gear has fallen off track twice when its in the process of changing time. I'm on the fence about returning it because I really do love the clock... maybe I received a slightly defective one? But for the price, I expected it to work better.
