nice option
I use this clamp to hold my pocket wizard TT5 to my light stands for my alien bees. feels very secure and best cost option I have found. very happy with the purchase but haven't tried it with any significant weight as of yet, that wasn't really why I tried it. does feel strong and cant beat the price.

Cheap, effective, and study!
This is a great tool for hanging a light fixture from an overhead support. I lost my much more expensive Lowell clamp and bought one of these to use in a pinch. While it isn't as nicely made as the Lowell clamp, it's only 1/2 the price and works just as well.

Stem has a slanted profile
I was planning on using these to hold a second crossbar down at the bottom of an existing light stand. The profile of the stem is different, it slants from the tip to the main stem, instead of having a straight/90 degree profile. As a result of this, the crossbar will not screw in properly, it torques off the slant and it pops off the mount. Not sure what is the "standard", but I have access to at least six other sets of stands and crossbars from other vendors, and they all seem to work with each other, and the stems have the straight profile. In addition, the rubber pads keep falling off, as others have noted. I'll probably keep these and try them with other accessories, but they were a bust for my application.

Not too bad
Okay quality. Perfect for a quick light setup in location(s) that are so cramped you can't get a regular kit to do the job. I use this mostly for kicker lighting. Same reason with my other purchase, the ePhoto Photography Video Gorilla Clip Clamp Studio Monolight Mounting 1/4" stud with CLAMP.The threaded screw-type clamping mechanism isn't the greatest. Sure, it screws down tightly, but the round, rubberized washer-type clamp at the end of the screw/bolt is shoddy. Could use a bigger version.

Why not
I bought this to crank my order up enough to receive Super Saver Shipping. I've used it once to hold an LCD monitor to a tripod leg, and it worked reasonably well. It really needs a tilt or swivel head, but I can't dock stars for something I knew when I purchased it.I'm sure this will save me one day when I attach a much needed fill to a chair.

Great Gear
These have been amazing. The design makes it so they stay on place and doesn’t move around when you set lights at an angle. The grips hold. I have been using these for years and still in great condition. Highly recommend.

It's ok
First this unit works ok nothing great. I am giving it two stars only because I feel it's just too cheaply designed to give three stars. The rubberize padding needs to be taped in place. I doubt it will last years of use nor would I trust it for an expensive of gear mounted on it. All that said for the price I would buy it again because it's nice to have in the grip kit but not an essential clamp I personally need daily.

Rubber Protector Falls Off, But Good Otherwise
Pretty good, but the little rubber cover that protects your furniture (or whatever you're clamping it to) falls off very easily. I got two of these and they both have the same problem.Otherwise, it holds my led lights nicely during production. I'll be ordering a few more. Thanks for reading!-Angel
