I was a little skeptical about this product. As a personal trainer I'm always looking for products that I can use to challenge my clients as well as keep them interested in working out. Not to mention, HAVING FUN! This fulfills each of those elements.I purchased another "hoop" made in China for comparison and was stunned by the differences. The China product is pure JUNK.THIS product is well made, easy to put together and easy to take apart (for traveling! Yay!) It has a nice weight to it which provides just enough resistance without putting too much stress on your joints.This isn't your grandmother's (or grandfather's) Hula Hoop by Wham-o! ;-) It's not as big as those hoops (42 inches for the 1950s version; 36 for this fitness hoop.)FYI: From the Wham-O News website: "Catherine Zeta-Jones – who is 47 – has previously credited the exercise with helping her stay slim, and says she prefers the classic hobby to expensive personal trainers."So for anybody out there looking for some fun and a challenge in their workout regimen buy this and enjoy yourself!

Overall, I like this. Being petite (5'2'') I was a little scared that it was going to be too big. The directions of assembly were easy to follow (with one minor typo on it). It took me under a minute to assemble. It took me a little bit to get used to this size, but it was like riding a bike after I got it spinning. It is soft and smooth, which I like. It also was very easy to disassemble. After reading the reviews, I was hoping it would come with the DVD or USB that many people are mentioning, as I really wanted to have a hula-hoop workout video; however, mine did not come with either of those things and just came with the hula hoop. Still good quality overall, but small things I thought were important things to note.

I am so happy with this hula hoop and can't wait to use it again! Totally brings back memories, but this is not the same hollow plastic hula hoop with the ball bearings in them with the "shoop shoop" sound I remember loving in the 70's. This is definitely a fitness hoop and I love it! I chose this particular design/item because I didn't want to go with something too heavy - this one is around 2 lbs - which is heavy enough for me with just the right momentum and I wanted a hoop that was smooth (no bumps along the edge.) It arrived quickly in the original retail box with the shipping label slapped on it. The hoop was easy to put together, feels like excellent quality and I like the color combination. It's been over 4 decades since I used a hula hoop, but I didn't have a problem with getting my old hips going again. I watched the included USB video (with cute, easy to follow instructor) and will probably do the 15 minute workout later. I still need practice to keep it up, but right now, I'm just hooping away and having fun while watching TV.

I love this hula-hoop. Its not as easy as you'd think to use it. With it being weighted you have to put more oomph into your hula to keep it off the floor. Its a soft material, without any hard spots; its very smooth. However, I still have bruises on my hips from the hula hoop. I believe that is to be expected, though... I can only use it every other day as my abs and hips are too sore to do it consecutively. I use it for 10 to 11 minutes, and it has helped me strengthen my core, and reduce some cellulite.

While my stomach has always been flat - I'm highly active and eat a balanced diet - I struggled sculpting my waist. This hula hoop changed my body within weeks of heavy use. My abs are now well defined and my waist line has lost a couple inches. Who needs Kim Kardashian's waist trainer when you can just hula hoop! I don't go anywhere without mine.

I like the colors, the soft exterior and the ease in assembly and dis-assembly. It took me a long time to work up to being able to use thishoop as it was too heavy for me. I practiced with a lighter one, and now I can do it! Hooping is really fun!

I'd been using a children's hoop for exercise, but decided to step things up with this one now that my technique is down. It's not as heavy as I was expecting, but I CAN feel a difference. The padding is comfortable and I like that I can disassemble this for travel. Very pleased!And hooping, if you've not tried it, is tremendously fun and healthy. I recommend that too.

On the first day of use the foam kept tearing in several places. The weight was just right and provided a good workout but I was very disappointed in the quality. I should have returned it but I didn’t want to go through the hassle. I wouldn’t recommend this hula hoop.
