As another person pointed out, this does not work with Windows 8. The driver loads when it is plugged in, but the software refuses to work. I did a compatibility check and it said it needed .NET installed. The version that comes on the CD is not compatible with Windows 8 and the Windows 8 version does not work with the software. There is no web link anywhere on the box or in the documentation. A web search led nowhere. In addition, the LED dimming light case fell off when I pulled it out of the box. Fortunately, I was able to return it to Amazon for a full refund the same day I got it. Unless you plan to use this with Windows 7 and never upgrade, don't bother ordering this.

This works perfectly and I am finding it very useful for computer repairs and such. Thank you for a great product.

The Microscope works, but the software is out of date for windows 8 the Disk that comes with it is Void and there is noupdater or web link to update the software.

Does not work with Win8/8.1 as claimed. Also, does not come with light base as shown on the advert.

This microscope is all around awesome. It's very good quality, easy to use, looks very nice and packs away in a small box. The only reason I am taking a star away from the product is because I wish is had a viewfinder on the scope. You can only look at it through and with the computer/camera. I guess I didn't quite understand that from the description. My 7 year old daughter is a science guru and loves this scope. I asked if she wanted a different kind so she could look through it and she said no, this one is great. It hooked up with her netbook with only a slight issue of it trying to use the web camera instead of the scope camera but we worked it out easily. If it works with a netbook it will work with any computer.

I needed a portable microscope for insect identification. Unfortunately the software (thus the microscope) only works on older versions of windows. I cannot say how the product works since it didn't.I honestly didn't think to check on Windows compabilibty..it does say it in the product description. I just assumed we lived in a time where people kept the software for products in line with the computers being sold.

This was a gift for my eight year old niece who is very much into science experiments. She loves it.

It looks fancy and has several adjustment features but it is more like a toy than an inspection devise.
