Helps stop pulling
Got this for our 60lb 2 year old male Yellow Lab. He hates it - but we like it. He was a rescue and for the first 18 months of his life had little to no training. We bought this harness on the recommendation of our trainer. It makes it much easier to control him on a walk. He still pulls significantly, but much less than with his EasyWalk harness. This is important - not so much for me, but my girlfriend as she realistically only has 40lbs on him (and he walks her).An added benefit is that it helps us stop him from eating stuff off the ground. We live in the city and there is all manner of junk that gets his attention. When we come upon some chicken bones (happens frequently) I can pull his head up. The harness contracts around his mouth and acts like a muzzle.Aside from our dog finding it a tad uncomfortable, the uninformed passerby thinks its a muzzle and that he is a "mean" dog. In reality is the biggest softy and loves giving sloppy kisses.

Good option for large dogs that pull
I use this sometimes when walking my 70+ lb Malinois. It definitely stops him from pulling. There are pros and cons to this head collar. The biggest pro is it works well to discourage pulling and it also doesn't put any pressure on the neck and trachea (like a flat collar can do on a dog that's pulling excessively). One of the cons is that it takes some conditioning to get the dog used to wearing it, so I started out with short sessions of wearing it and giving plenty of training treats. He will sometimes also paw at his face while we're walking to try and get it off. I am able to distract him with training treats and continue the walk though. The only other issue with this head collar is it doesn't give the kind of control you have with a prong collar. So if the dog sees a cat (for example) and starts freaking out, pulling and going every which way, I have found this doesn't give as much control in that kind of situation as a prong collar. I also don't want my dog trying to lunge at something and this causing his head to jerk back. However, for training heel and leash manners, I like this and I also like the prong collar. There are certain situations where I would use this and others where I would use a prong collar.

Great Head Collar for Walks and Control
Holt Head Collar Black Size 3 As a dog trainer, this is a great head collar for controlling your dog. I use this to take my 90 lb Lab-Shep-Coonhound mix out for walks or out in public places. It's a must for a dog with high prey drive. wants to jump on people or gets protective. He hates people sneaking up on us or invading his or my space. My dog is very strong with an intense prey drive to chase squirrels, cats, skateboarders, bicycle riders, joggers, etc. With this collar, he can't pull me down and he stays in check with me. It can't be used for breeds with a short muzzle such as a Pug or Mastiff. You need to use this collar properly so watch a training video before using this collar. The possible sign that your dog is unhappy with the head collar is if he/she is reluctant for placement of the head collar or if he/she rubs their head on the ground and/or people. The plastic clamp underneath the muzzle and around their head has a tendency to tighten. So check periodically for adjustments. Make sure you reward them with the placement of the collar with a treat and praise. It's very important that you get your dog used to it before going on walks. My other collar by Coastal Pet ended up cracking and breaking. I bought this Holt Head Collar over two months ago, and it works wonderfully.

Great Head Collar - Highly Recommended for Comfort and Control
Bought this for my pitbull that has a neck thick like a bull and doesn't feel a choke or prong collar. After feeling like I was heading head first into the Belgian block curbing a few times I decided to try this. I had tried others on other dogs but didn't like the nylon material as I felt it cut into their nose or worse yet if they moved a certain way could slice their eye. This one is great - thickly padded and a nice comfortable material. It's like she is a different dog. Just a slight pull on it and she stays right next to me and non-reactive to other dogs. I use in conjunction with a collar on a separate leash but it can be attached with the extra latch to the dog's collar, something I strongly recommend since these can come off. I also use a small collar and loop it around the top of the collar and halter making it near impossible for it to slide over the ears. A bit of overkill but you must make sure you always have control over your dog. As far as pulling or lunging it is fantastic. Nice and loose around mouth area until you pull on it. Feel like I have a small pony now!

Bait and Switch?
Just got this product, as noted in other reviews the product is advertised as Holt ( formerly Halti) but no where on the product or packaging are those names listed. Only name is walk n' train. Product looks ok, I will know soon as my 85 lbs 1 yea old lab will give a real work out.I will say i am very disappointed with Amazon for not noting or making seller acknowledge that this product is labeled other than as advertised.I am hoping this is a perfectly serviceable product, but I am now responsible for the field test to see if it is equivalent to Halti

Game changer!
This product has been a game changer for our family. Before Halti Headcollar, our dog would constantly pull on the lead - we tried "with-me" training, body harnesses, and even made a "choke" type collar looping with the end of the leash through the leash handle hoping it would curb his desire to pull. Nothing worked. Then a friend suggested we try a "gentle leader" and viola, it worked like a charm. Now our dog walks beside us and no longer pulls our arms out of our sockets. It did take some training - we started by just putting the harness on him for short periods with no leash attached so he could get used to it . We gradually added more time with the leash attached. By the third or fourth walk, he was completely used to the harness on leash and finally a charming dog to take on walk. Highly recommend for dogs who constantly tug/pull on the lead!

Works if you need it
I wouldn't use it all the time, since it is not the most enjoyable walk for the dog, however it instantly helps on pulling. So when we go somewhere busy where I need support on my big pup I would use it. This is the 2nd one as he destroyed the previous one (he found it and chewed off) but I would always have it now just in case.

Training aid
I ordered these to take to Greece for friends dogs. They had seen how different my own dog is after a short time using a Halti. Walks are now enjoyable instead of a tug of war
