This is one of the most beautiful books I have ever read.
I could tell by the cover this was a unique book. The illustrations, story and historical content are beautifully intertwined into something to treasure. If you love art and science and want to encourage your children to explore the wonders of the natural world, you will be extremely pleased with this book.

Nice background of an historic artista.
Written for a youth, but interesting and enjoyable for people of all ages. Especially if you are into cyanotyping or origins of early photography. Nice background of an early, female pioneer in photography, science and illustration.

Such a great book.
This is one of the best children's books we've ever seen. I bought it because I'm an amateur photographer and make Cyanotypes and I'm also a scientist. I wanted to teach my little daughter all about Ana Atkins, who was a scientt and a great early photographer. It's so much better than I even hoped it would be! My daughter loves it, and we've been reading it nearly every night!

The Bluest of Blues is Stunning
The Bluest of Blues has quickly become one of my favorite picture books! We absolutely adore biographical picture books because they are such an amazing way to learn about people that you may never have heard of before. The illustrations are absolutely stunning. We loved the use of the random pops of color throughout the book. We were so inspired by the book that we purchased some nature print paper and created our own sun prints. I cant recommend this book enough. It was just beautiful!

Gorgeous Book! Perfect for teaching about nature photography and Cyanotypes
Great condition. Fast shipping. Beautiful hardback book. Used it for a Unit Study on photography and Cyanotypes. Glad I bought it instead of checked it out from the library. Definitely for the home book collection!

Brilliant and beautiful book
This is a really beautiful book with wonderful illustrations. It also tells the story of Anna Atkins and her botanical cyanotypes in a very engaging way. It would make a great gift, especially with a pack of 'sun print' paper to experiment with

Picture book better for older children
Nice pictures and informative about the woman said to have created the first book of photographs. But as a picture book, itβs really wordy. Younger children might find it too long, but might be good for age 10+.
