Duluth Forge Ventless Propane Gas Log Set-24 in Split Red Oak 33,000 BTU, Manual Control, 24 Inch

These are a decent set of gas logs at a great price. I already had a propane line at a rental house so I converted a wood burning fireplace over to gas. Easy installation once the propane line was moved over to the fireplace. The gas log set itself is great. Its looks to be of good quality including the logs themselves and the burner set up. Everything works and looks great. My only complaint is that there is a misspelling on the pilot light knob. In big white letters is says "POLIT". Ill probably scratch all the letters off except the "P" to fix this but this really should have been caught before it made it into production even if it was manufactured overseas.

Relatively easy to install. Gives off quite a bit of heat but haven't actually had it on very long. I did have to remove the decorative mantel wreath you see in the pic b/c it was getting too warm and I feared a fire.

The fit of the cement sticks is poor, encouraging fiddling by certain members of my family. This basically ensures that they won't be where they're supposed to be, and will probably fall on the burner.That said, if you stop worrying about the aesthetics, it works well, and was relatively easy to plumb to our propane line. (My son works in HVAC, so that was helpful.) It lights easily, and burns well. We keep it low because it set off the smoke detector the first time we ran it, but I think a lot of those fumes have burned off now and we could probably turn it higher without a problem.

This is set is very high quality (especially for the price!) We have 2 other much more expensive fireplace log sets and this is nicer quality and has a better “fire effect.” The logs are a heavy painted material which is much nicer than the usual styrofoam-like products. Installation was simple, included lava rock and rock wool for the front burner!

Great gas log fireplace set for the money. Looks nice, works as advertised. It is a little awkward reaching the pilot light knob and the starter at the same time during ignition because they are on opposite sides. Advertised as ventless; however, in my fireplace, the exterior face of the fireplace box and damper lever get very hot if the gas logs are operated with the damper closed. I would recommend partially opening the damper during operation.

I got this thinking I would save money by buying on line. I hired a plumber to run the gas line, after they got that done they worked on the log for a hour. On low it would whistle, on high it would go off. I’m pretty sure it was the sensor on the valve. I called the number to get some information. I was on hold for 30 minutes then a nice lady came on and read the trouble shooting guide to me. After convincing her I tried all of that before I called she put me on hold to research the problem. 15 minutes later the call was hang up on her side not mine. A call back a 45 minute wait on hold. Jump though the same hoops the new lady gave us a email to email for we could return the unit and they would fix it. The email was like a website address not a email, I asked about it no she said it was right. Needless to say we cannot return it to get fixed. So we sent it back to Amazon. Shop local it is a better value in the long run.

I purchased and install this fireplace back in March so this is our first time actually using it. The knob to change the flame size is difficultly positioned - you really have to get your head back in there to see what setting it's on. Also it's a bit unintuitive because you have to press in to turn it down. I use this in my short term rental house and the guests all seem to have issues with it which I totally understand. If you're using it in your own house and you're used to it, it's probably not so bad.

Absolutely love this set. We have 16 foot ceilings in our house in upstate NY and this set will run you out of the room on high. Wish it had a remote but I knew that going in. The price was great.
