Drill Doctor DA70100PF Large Chuck, 3/32-3/4 in, for 6YB32-6YB33

After several dozen bits sharpened of a wide range of diameters I found this tool works quite well...certainly as advertised. It is clearly best suited for occasional use in the home shop and not for daily hard use in a machine shop environment. I have no idea how durable it may be but it seems well made and of initially high quality. Because the grinding wheel is quite small I suspect it will have a relatively short working life. Some reviewers complained of somewhat rough finish on bits but I found simply turning the bits until absolutely no more grinding sound was heard from the wheel resulted in consistently smoother surfaces. Using a slightly lighter touch at the end and turning the chuck evenly and consistently seemed to help as well. I sharpened everything from extremely dull, chipped bits to slightly dull ones with equally good outcomes. I'd say the salvaged bits from the first day's batch alone easily equalled the cost of the tool. I did not attempt any split tips and so cannot comment on that feature. After purchasing this tool I did decide to add the larger chuck in order to accommodate up to 3/4" diameter bits.
