Modern Crochet Mandalas: 50+ Colorful Motifs to Crochet Kindle Edition

Beautiful book with lovely, colorful photos. Lots of great looking patterns. I've already made two of the mandalas and loved them.My only complaint is that both patterns left out instructions in the written form. Fortunately, a charted pattern is also provided so it was easy to figure out what went wrong. I made the African Flower and the Tangerine Dream.

The crochet designs are great and I like the colors the author chose for the most part. I especially like the addition of diagrams to go with the written instructions-it was the reason I bought the book. There are two things that I thought could have been handled better. One was the listing of the yarns for each project. It is written in a paragraph format that is difficult to read. An index of all of the yarns and colors at the back of the book with a reference to what projects they were used in would have been a great addition and a way around this limitation, but the book doesn't have that. Second, and this is a small thing, but they didn't print the page numbers on the the two pages with the picture of the finished mandala and the facing page with the project requirements forcing you to turn the page to make note of the page number. I attribute this to a book designer with more interest in how the pages look than the usefulness of the contents.

Easy to understand. I just started crocheting 4 months ago and I made this pillow cover. I had to deviate from the pattern and use ideas from other patterns in this book. Highly recommend

This book is filled with beautiful, gorgeous mandalas. The color photos alone are inspirational in terms of colors and design. However, if you are the kind of crocheter that wants a chapter on what to do with all your mandalas this book will NOT provide that. This is strictly a book of patterns. I wasn't bothered by that as Pinterest can supply plenty of ideas! I absolutely loved every design in this book and can't wait to start making them!

Lovely looking photos. Finally getting around to making my first mandala from the book (Violet Eyes) and already a mistake between the written instructions and the chart. Beware. No corrections on interweave’s website for this pattern and some other links for corrections don’t work.

I love it so much I have it in both paperback and e-book versions, so I can use it at home (paperback) and take it anywhere. The mandalas are so freaking cool and I come back to them again and again and again and again........my plan is to make a ton of them, connect them, then put that on my wall. Then do that again, and make a dress. Then do that again and make a........you get the picture. These mandalas are art.

some of the instructions in this book were a bit off in a few of the patterns. for example, the written instructions would say to FPDC to one stitch, but the diagram would show this FPDC in a different stitch. overall an amazing a fun book. torally worth the money and practice work.

A phenomenal compendium of mandala patterns. The best round motif "dictionary" I have ever seen.

This is a large book set out in a clear and concise way. The patterns are in written and diagram form. Lots of mandalas to get excited about and suitable for beginners and more advanced crocheters I would say. There are a few new to me stitches and techniques I am looking forward to trying.I haven't made any of the mandalas yet so can't comment on possible pattern errors and do be aware that this book is written in American terminology. That's why it only scores 4 stars - If you can read charts (which are large and clear) then this isn't too much of an issue but if you are fairly new to crochet and prefer a written pattern then you will have to remember to convert stitches as you go along. Overall I recommend this bright, clear and visually stunning book. I'm happy to have it in my collection.

This book is simply gorgeous! There's a really great selection of patterns and designs (53, to be exact!), and each pattern has the written instructions plus really clear charts and supporting pictures. Besides the designs themselves, it's really well presented in general, a joy to have a leaf through even if not looking for anything in particular. I'm really pleased I bought it!

Two mistakes found in two different patterns. The chart differed from the written pattern, and missed out an important stitch in the written pattern entirely.

Laid out nicely although lots of wasted space in the book. Hoped it would have more interesting designs, most are so basic, so very basic that they think it’s a thing if they change colour each row. Boring and disappointing. Might be okay for a kid learning to crochet.

Clearly written also with diagrams for each pattern which is so helpful in learning to learn as you crochet along.Beautiful book, far better than other mandala books Ive bought so far. Absolutely love it!
