    Legendary Rock from Italy!!

Area are/were one of the best Rock bands to come out of Italy. Period. Their level of musicianship (and also, compositionally speaking) was up there with the best of them. They have to be included among the best 70s bands in the Prog subgenre (PFM, Banco, Le Orme, Picchio Dal Pozzo and Stormy Six are the other ones that come to mind belonging in that exclusive club). If you are interested in bands that make their own music world, have excellent playing/writing abilities, that is not afraid to experiment yet keep things 'in check' when it comes to improv and/or don't stray 'far-out' as to disconnect with the listener, then you need to check this band. All the records with Demetrio Stratos should be first the first priority. And this one certainly qualifies as a great intro to the band. If you know the band and have not heard this one yet, prepare to be blown away!

Forse il miglior disco dei Nostri...energia a piene mani, creatività e persino una ballata delle migliori italiane. Erano avanti cent'anni ed infatti questa musica suona ancora con grandissima freschezza. Più che buona la rimasterizzazione che ho confrontato con il CD originale. Confezione gran lusso anche se oltre agli adesivi ci sarebbe stato bene un libricino con qualche riferimento al tutto. Da custodire gelosamente e da mettere nella teca Spazio/Tempo...

Catalogare gli Area con un'etichetta è praticamente impossibile. Le atmosfere jazz e jazz-rock si mescolano con stili arabeggianti e a volte con il pop e il funky. Il tutto completato dall'incredibile voce di Demetrio che trova melodie impossibili su strutture musicali quasi impossibili da cantare.Grandissimi musicisti, enormi compositori. La loro musica è sempre attuale e questo disco ne è la prova. Difficile dire qual è il loro disco che preferisco, sono tutti da 5 stelle super.
