Q: Do the lids are stainless?

Yes ... both the fillable container and lids are stainless steel ... the little pop stick insert is silicone ... freezes ice-cream perfectly and releases quickly when you run some cold water over the outside.

Q: are these made in china?

I believe so. The set came in a box with the name PENGXI on it, Chinese characters, and a cute polar bear smiling as he eats a popsicle. Directions are in English. I consider the mold to be best quality, and I use it a few times a week.

Q: How is the fit and finish on these? I tried Onyx and the staining/bad welds, etc. made me feel uncomfortable to use. Does anyone have pictures?

These are the BEST. We have been using them for 6 months and have had no problems at all.

Q: Can I use acidic ingredients such as citrus fruits etc in these molds?

Absolutely NOT !!! If you need to use acidic ingredients please use silicone molds.
