I Am Number Four: The Lost Files: The Legacies (Lorien Legacies: The Lost Files)

This one in The Lost Files, I really liked. The book comprises three of the separate "Lost Files" stories that came out earlier, so you save money buying this one instead of each one separately.The stories it includes are: Six's Legacy, Nine's Legacy and The Fallen Legacies.The writing quality is better than in "The Last Days of Lorien". Besides, I liked how the authors let us look at the more vulnerable aspects of Six and Nine as, in the series, both appear behind a bravado they've built to protect themselves. It's interesting how they came to be that way.The Fallen Legacies story is really good. Because one is expecting a first person narrative from the Garde themselves, same as in the other two tales.Instead, we find ourselves reading the story of how the first three Garde falls from a young Mogadorian's perspective. I found that particularly interesting. And I liked how this boy's interaction with One develops and a new perspective appears.Again, except for the last story, it's not your book if you don't know the series yet. But if you do, it's a worhty addition.

the story in this series is gripping. the material is a bit derivative, and the writing is simplistic. also, some plot devices are contrived or just silly, and some of the teen angst is vacuous, and, if this were reality, all of the good guys woulda long since been killed already, because the whole basic idea and their actions are so stupid, and yet, i find myself staying up to read a new book and liking the story and the characters.my personal complaint? in the book, 4's girlfriend is the pretty blonde, and, in the movie, the pretty blonde is #6. i hate this type of juxtaposition. i prefer him to be with #6, but, if necessary, why can he not be with both? reminds me of the same character contrivance to create romantic conflict in the tv show roswell, as well as, of course, many tv shows, like police or detective shows, with a male and female lead.

I have read all of the other books associated with "I Am Number Four" and I saw the film. Therefore, I had to purchase the "The Lost Files" and am so glad that I did. They add background to all of the other stories and characters. I even find that this series is more well written than the others. A pleasant surprise. I am not a die-hard sci-fi reader, but I can't get enough of these stories.

I really enjoyed this book a lot. I understood Number 9's attitude about Number 4's relationship and his attitude towards humans in general a lot better after this. I also much better understood his almost maniacal laughter as he fought his way out of the mog cave a lot better. Even more than that, I really enjoyed how they did the back story on #'s 1, 2, and 3. It was not at all what I expected, but it was done so well. I like what that it opens a possible door into a good way for the Loric Garde to start to really take on the Mogs. I can't wait for book 4 to come out now!

This is a very good book, lots of additional information on some of the characters in the story. It explains some of the attitude problems that Nine has, however I still don't like him very much. I am also wondering the exact order in which these legacy novellas & the books should be read. If anyone knows for sure, please make a comment on this site. Now, on to The Revenge Of Seven!

My son loves the whole series. He was excited to read this one so he can learn about the previous characters. He finished up the book quickly and liked it but was dissappointed that there weren't more to each of the previous characters. He was looking forward to getting a whole book on each character like the series for 4, 6 and 9. All in all he was glad to read about the characters.

I loved this series so much. And normally, I don't care for 'extra' books in series, but these are so compelling that I had to read every single one. Great series. I'm glad they stopped the movies because they absolutely destroyed the first one and I didn't want to see them ruin the rest. Team Six!

Wish that they would just insert these extra notations into the book at the time they were originally written as they would make the books make more sense.

I've been enjoying this series since the beginning. Having just finished book three, Rise of Nine, I thought I'd check out this compilation of back stories. I can tell you that now, it's going to be much harder for me to wait for the next book. The three back stories in this book are well worth reading. I thought Six's back story was good, but much of it could be discerned from the series. Nine's back story was a real revelation and makes me like him even more. But the last back story was by far the best, or at least the most revealing. I hope more of Adam shows up in the next book, although right now, I can't imagine how that's going to go. Read the book to find out what I mean.If you're a fan of the series, you need... NEED! to read this too.

The "I Am Number Four" has quickly become my all time favourite series! And, "The Lost Files" books are better than I could have imagined. They give you back stories to many of the characters & story lines & are so fun & interesting to read/know. I couldn't get enough of the series, and this gives me even more! So looking forward to the final book of the series due in 2016. I honestly believe this story is great for anyone over the age of 12-14 male or female. Pittacus Lore is a genius & has created something so unique. I can't say enough about these books. Do yourself a favour & read them ALL!!!

Loved the first novel, couldn't wait to start more from this author

I would read any and everything based in this universe. I can't get enough of the missing storylines and histories.
