Works for Vertical shooting on a Gimbal
This is a very solid bracket that I use with my wide to medium zoom and prime lenses (i.e. lenses with no collar rings) to shoot vertical/portrait orientation on a gimbal. Note that when shooting in vertical on a gimbal with these types of lenses you have no choice but to mount the short leg of the L-bracket at a 90 degree angle on the QR plate of the gimbal. This bracket gives me a lot of options on where I can attached it's short leg to the QR plate. However, the short leg can block access to some of the connector ports on the side of the camera. But, I've been able to easily mount the QR plate to a different point on the bracket if I need access to the ports. (And Also Note: Many custom L-brackets that advertise access to the ports don't have any threaded connection points on the short leg to allow connection to a gimbal. You can only use them with a ball head.)Once I have this connected to my camera and gimbal QR plate, (and you'll want to make sure you tighten the screws with a screwdriver or coin, because the finger tighteners won't give you enough torque), it's a solid setup for dedicated vertical shooting on the gimbal. I get all the benefits I enjoy from a gimbal in vertical with these "little" lenses as I do shooting in horizontal.I'll emphasize again this is for DEDICATED vertical orientation shooting on a gimbal. There is no quick switching from horizontal to vertical and back as there would be using the L-bracket on a ball head. You have to physically remove and reattach the bracket to change orientation. But, for my application, that is just fine.

Hard to keep together
This comes in two pieces and is held together with two small screws, which on their own, do not hold together. Tightening the screws as tight as possible the two pieces were loose, and didn't keep the camera steady. I was afraid the expensive camera would fall off. I put super glue in the screw holes and between the two pieces. So far so good. This should have fit together without the glue, which may, or may not work. Time and use will tell. The screw that attaches to the camera, when tightened, rubs the paint off of the bracket.

Good idea, but inconvenient set-up
I returned this because the ability to extend or tighten to the side of the camera was limited only by the ability to reposition & slide the base-plate. Moving the base-plate meant the battery doors on my cameras were completely covered. So, the choices I had were cover the battery door, which is a significant inconvenience when in the field, or have a large L-piece sticking out three inches from the camera, which was a significant annoyance.

Doesn't stay in place
Screw to camera tripod mount can never be tightened enough to prevent camera from rotating on the L bracket that has inadequately grippy rubber.

Just as described
I was heading out for some serious landscape photography work and realized I needed an L Bracket. Shopped and read reviews and took my chances on this one. It is just as described - solid. No wiggles once it was mounted in either Landscape or especially Portrait mode. Took me just a minute to figure out how to assemble since there are no instructions with it - but it fits perfectly - tighten the screws and it was done. For the money - I say - real value. Don't be apprehensive - buy it.

Works great for making *portrait stiles social.media videos*
I've been using this a whole lot and it has been pretty damn solid tbh. I mean i haven't checked it across the room or nothing to really test it's endurance bit why the hell would you have to? It's pretty solid. I has a few attachment points as well so adjusting it is a breeze. Great job guys. 5 star homie.

Sturdy and good value
This was a great product for the price. Did exactly what I needed. Attached to my 7D Mark is without any issues. It is extremely sturdy and has a good finish. I would not hesitate to buy again. The only issue I had was that the seller sent me an incorrect product initially. However the seller responded immediately and corrected the situation.

Very good
Very good on all accounts, material, conception, workmanship, performance. The only matter for concern, or rather inquiry, how is it going to handle the test of time. But then for this range of price should one even pop the question?...
