A well-done anthology for a spectacular artist.
Similar to Alex Ross's "Mythology" that was released last year, "The Art of Greg Horn" chronicles the many different styles and artistic pieces Greg has released throughout his career. From sexy pin-up pieces of the White Queen (Emma Frost) to his various Spiderman, Black Widow, and other comic book pieces, Greg Horn's creations have blanketed the comic industry for many years. This book thankfully covers those years with an in depth look at the artwork, while often providing the original pencils and artwork Greg bases his fabulous computer painting on.Granted only true Greg Horn fans like myself will probably part with our hard earned dough for this great book, but if you like the cover art I promise it is well worth the money. The interior pages of this book are to die for.

Promising but it could be more detailed.

A great art book
Greg Horn is a pioneer with his use of the digital medium in comicbook covers. He uses models who are 'perfect' for most of his artwork, and his composition of characters is excellent. However, there are many digital artists out there who can do similar type of work with similar skill in terms of producing similar type of art. Greg Horn's point of difference is that he found a niche with comicbook heroes... which is great to see! This book is definitely worth the money!

Amazing but limited
The art of Greg Horn is, of course, amazing, but I thought that the publishers/editors of the compilation could have chosen more diversified pieces of his work. They seemed repetitive in the sense that they would pick a handful of pages dedicated to one theme (e.g. a particular comic hero). Nevertheless, still a great buy.

An Impressive Showing
Those of us who are avid readers of Marvel Comics cannot be ignorant of Greg Horn's artistry - his digitally-rendered covers have graced such titles as Emma Frost, Black Widow, She-Hulk, Ms. Marvel, Marville and, perhaps most famously, Elektra. The Art of Greg Horn showcases Horn's famed style and supplied an excellent gallery of his work.Horn is a prolific digital painter for comic books, and there is a great deal of this art here, sometimes with preliminary sketches produced alongside the finished digital artwork. This book also provides a look at Horn's other artistic endeavors, including magazine covers, advertisements, and more. Highlights include a work that looks to be a "fan fantasy" poster for a GI Joe movie, and several images of Tomb Raider's Lara Croft, to name a few. This book also includes a fairly detailed tutorial of Horn's technique, as well as an extensive and impressive sketchbook section displaying his virtuosity with a pencil. This artwork is not lascivious in any way - the women are, as one expects from comic book art, idealized and scantily-clad, but there is no nudity in this volume. However good this book might be, however, it nevertheless left me hollow - Horn's style is a bit too "glossy," and the figures too "airbrushed" - while her can certainly capture a likeness, there is still a "reality" missing in this digital artwork. Nonetheless, this book is a good addition of a comic book fan or artist's shelf.

とても綺麗なアートブック
アメコミのキャラクタWite Queenの好きなイラストがあり、誰が描いていたのかと探し回っていたところ、The Art Of Greg Hornにたどり着きました。
