The best GPS I have every used
Skycaddie got this one right. Absolutely stunning resolution, all the function I need. I especially like the easy shot tracking and keeping your score. The size is large but can easily slip in my front pocket between shots. The screen lock ensures nothing is entered. And the battery life is a game changer. I can keep it on 100% backlight for 18 holes and only use 75%. I do not have polarized sun glasses so the screen is plenty bright enough to read in full sun light. Changing and selecting different views is easy. Expensive but I plan to use this for many years.

Best GPS handheld produced to date.
Battery is astonishing. The ability to pick your layup locations or know the yardage to an area around the 150 mark when you're in the trees is unparalleled. The score keeping and stat tracking is first rate and easy to use. Things they could improve on. . . The "lock" button should be a harder press. It inadvertently is depressed unlocking the screen sometimes while putting it in your pocket. Yes, I know some guys will leave it in the cart but I like it in my pocket when I'm in the trees and stuff or away from my playing partner. The charging port (micro usb) is garbage (read the reviews). I had read the reviews and decided to take a chance on it with the assurion extended 2 year warranty. I haven't had a problem "yet", but it is a little wonky. I expect better for this money. The score keeping ability could be improved by being able to keep your playing partners score as well (like the Garmin). Overall. . . great GPS. Best I've ever owned and I've owned them all over the last 20 years. The size is also about perfect. Way bigger than the garmin g80 but not so big you can't put it in your pocket. For reference it is almost the exact same size as my Google Pixel 2 with it's case on it.

Just plain better than the others
This Skycaddie is better than all the rest of the GPS is out there. And it's even better than the last version of skycaddie. So easy to use. So intuitive. So fast update. Already has all the courses. The cursor when using your finger to pinpoint a position on the course. Just smart things all around. Most reviews mention the proprietary charger. It is a bit of a pain but they replaced it immediately when I told them I have a problem. You do have to get their charger because it is a little walk or in the center then normal micro USB. Again totally worth it because they are backing it up with their warranty. And, like I said, this thing is awesome. You can get at least two rounds in before charging. I have not tried it further but I bet you get three or more.It is obviously a bit pricier than others. But it is so worth it to keep your scores lower. More valuable than a new driver and not as expensive.

Performs as advertised!!
I like the size, in particular, and its ease of use. Easily portable and coupled with the website wi-fi capability scores are saved and readily available for review!

Best GPS on the market but don't buy the bad design holster.
Pros: Give you critical information for laying up, and approach shots. Very easy to use, battery lasts easily for 2 rounds or more. Syncing with computer is also very easy. Some might be deterred by the $60 a year subscription (free first year). I play once a week, sometimes more so it comes down to $1 per game, which is nothing compared to the tee fee.Cons: I put the caddie in my pocket, so it might be cumbersome but not big deal. The holster sold by Skysoft is horrible, it is bad design and broke on first use. The button on the holster to slide into the clip can't handle any pressure. I have to pay for return shipping back to sky soft. Don't buy itUpdate after couple months. the caddie sometimes lost track and I have to reset, it will resume but still annoying and delaying the game. I am not sure why it seems riding on the bumpy course causes it.A firmware update has solved the problem of losing track. No longer have to reset during play. I renew the membership and select state only and it is half price $29. I play once to twice a week, and it comes around 40c per game. I wonder why people don't like the idea of annual subscription when it is just a tiny fraction of the tee time cost.

Great Device - Cant Be Recharged
SkyCaddie makes wonderful products, and the function of the SX500 is excellent. Clear screen, great features, very accurate yardages. But the way the case covers the recharge port (micro-USB) makes it nearly impossible to get their charging cord into the port. I just spent 20 minutes trying to wriggle the micro USB plug into the body of the device... no luck. I have bought a second charging cord from them, thinking mine might be defective. Same result. The design of the case is ridiculous, and because I cant get the recharge cord(s) into the port... I now have a $400 paperweight as it is beyond the product return window. By the way, I am a certified network engineer... so I have plugged in a few devices in my life. It is beyond me how this device could get out of QA when it is impossible to plug in the recharging cord. If they can rectify the plug, this would be a great device.

Customer Service is bad
The customer service is poor. I created a new bag at the web site and synced to my SX500 but it does not list the approach wedge. I have called three times about the problem (has been several months now). Called back to Sky Golf and was told I had already reported the problem and they were working on it. No other explanation was given. Also website is very slow recognizing key strokes when I am logged into my account and making changes to data. On the course the SX500 is very handy, the screen is bright and easy to read. The GPS yardage is pretty spot on.

Can't beat it
Second purchase of this device . This one was a gift. Great product, but a lot tougher to see in sunlight than the SG5. There is only 1 cart mount I can find for it. Battery is Awesome, a minimum of 2 rounds with backlight at 100% and basically constant-on. Lots of features that I will never use, but that is me.

Camera stuck in 'selfie mode' with no fix....
I had high hopes for this item having used SkyCaddie products for may years. I really liked the idea of the camera being able to add images to holes and courses and, although not a deal breaker, it was there as a feature and I expected it to work.It turns out there is a known fault on these units where some are unable to switch off the front camera as the toggle is missing, meaning you can take lovely shots of your face. After 2 days of trying, including a very expensive call to the US technical support, who transferred me to the UK support, who knew nothing of the issue so said they would need to contact the US support, I have given up and am returning the item.I got back on a chat to the US, who once again told me to call the UK!!Unfortunately the historical good support from SkyGolf has taken a nose dive here and not only are they selling a product which has a known issue, they don't have a fix for it and just push customers from pillar to post when they just want to have a not inexpensive product working as advertised.
