Still not basic enough for a real beginner with not much artistic ability. Her comparison examples both looked eqally good to ME. I would be happy just to get the pictures on the page with labels. I don't understand the concept of "pizzazz." And even though my kids are all gone now, I still don't have the time to do all these creative layouts. Guess it's true, you can't turn a sow's ear into a silk purse! My talent lies more in writing, so I'm not entirely hopeless when it comes to recording memories.

Good How To guide for a first adventure into the world of scrapbooks. The content is clearly organized with excellent photographs and step-by-step information on different approaches to tackling a scrapbook page; questions to help think through the purpose of the scrapbook being created and the kinds of materials needed to get started, and potential pitfalls for beginners (ex. being overwhelmed by all of the available stickers, die-cuts, stamps, etc.). It's reassuring to have an advocate for keep it simple. I keep this book close at hand and continue to use it as a refresher. The included page maps have proved helpful.

Great book for beginners but not much use for someone who had scrapbooked for years. I thought it might give me some ideas but it didn't...lol. I would recommend this for a novice scrapbooker. Yes, I know the book says "start" scrapbooking but I thought it might have some hidden gems :). Again, great book for those just getting into the hobby.

Great basic book for getting started. I love the spiral binding, I can lay the book flat to refer to it and it stays at that page. It includes all the steps you need from getting the basic tools, how to choose colors, and designing layouts. If you are just starting out, this is the book for you.

I just started scrapbooking and this is one of the best resources I have found, the author was thorough, yet concise and gave great guidance and instruction. This book will be a great reference moving forward, it's full of inspiration and great sketches and you can see those sketches translated to completed designs.

Great instructions with lots of pictures to give you ideasBought as a gift for my mum as she was wanting to get into scrapbooking but had no idea where to start. She had a read through and says it's very clearly written with lots of helpful pictures and example.It's a good size and has a hard cover with ring binding on the inside for easy page turning, overall it looks great and (according to my mum) is very useful

I saw this book at a Scrapbooking Crop and was very impressed with it. I want to scale back my scrapbooking making simpler layout and this book has some excellent layouts and ideas.
