Lizard Skins Neoprene Chainstay Protector

I bought this protector to prevent damage to my carbon frame chain stay from the occasional chain slap. I found it simple to fit with the Velcro holding it firmly in place. The length is sufficient to protect the entire length of the chai stay from the chainring to the cassette. Strong and well made from a reputable manufacturer.As recommended by a previous review I would also suggest going for the large size for a road bike. Too small and the Velcro won’t attach securely. I measured the exact size of my chainstay using a piece of string (or cotton) and surprisingly found I needed the large size for my Specialised road bike.

Bit expensive for 5 stars but it fits well and protects the frame from chain slap and also keeps the noise down. I have been using these on my bikes for years and of course you can swap it on to whichever bike you want unlike a protective sticker.Fits nice and tight on my Trek Marlin 7, following the contours nicely.

I bought this to avoid damaging my new frame and it works perfectly. I've had cheaper ones before but this Lizard skinz one is a little thicker and just generally better in quality.I'd recommend measuring before buying as I nearly bought size small but after measuring I needed the medium. This size fitted perfectly but had I bought the smaller one I would have had to return it.

This is a neat looking, long lasting, easy to fit way of protecting your chainstay. It's reassuringly robust, and with a sturdy velcro closure, there's no danger of it coming off mid ride.I'd highly recommend this.

Had the same one on my bike for around 14 years, tie wrapped in place now as its getting a little tired but does what its supposed to in reducing paint chipping and noise from chain hitting the frame.Is it better than a cheaper version? I dunno, but I'd say 14 years is not a bad lifespan for something like this.This one was bought for my kids new mountainbike.When buying one of these, make sure you measure your frame diameter and get the right size (check the lizardskins website if unsure)

Great product. Does what it states. Have used this product for over 10 years. Never fails and looks much better than rapping an old inner tube around your frame.

Auf dem gelieferten Schutz steht in riesiger Druckschrift: "BERGZEIT.DE", ich habe ihn mir bestellt weil ich davon ausgegangen bin er hat dieses dezente coole Lizard Skin Logo. Dieser Bergzeit.de Schriftzug sieht einfach scheiße aus und verschandelt ein teures Cube E-Bike nur, ich will keine Werbung für Bergzeit.de machen, ¿was soll das? Ich habe den Schutz jetzt auf die Innenseite der Strebe gedreht, so dass man den Schriftzug nicht sieht (dafür sieht man jetzt die Klettverschluss Seite).Das positive ist, dass der Kettenstrebenschutz gut verarbeitet ist und problemlos auf die dicke Strebe meines Cube E-Bikes passte (MTB).Das Neopren lässt sich auch noch gut um 3-4 cm Strecken.Der Klettverschluss hält gut ohne Sorge haben zu müssen das er nicht richtig klettet.Wäre das Produkt wie oben abgebildet hätte es 5 Sterne von mir bekommen.

für den Rahmen. Der Schutz veredelt außerdem durch seine solide Verarbeitung noch ein wenig das Bike. Er lässt sich auch leicht wieder abnehmen und nach einer Tour im Gelände reinigen.Allerdings sollte man vorher wirklich seine Rahmenrohrbreite nachmessen, damit der Schutz auch solide sitzt und nicht verrutscht.

L'ho comprato per la mia Cube Reaction GTC Reace e ho preso il Super Jumbo appunto perchè i foderi sono belli tosti .Diciamo che la misura è sufficiente a coprire per bene il tutto , la messa in opera è un pò laboriosa perchè lo spazio tra foderi e ruota è quello che è ... scarso .

Habe mir den Schutz für mein Radon Swoop 175 Enduro geholt und er passt perfekt! Nach den schlechten Rezensionen wegen der Größe war ich skeptisch. Habe bei H&S bike Discount die exakten Masse gefunden und dann mal gemessen. Wie gesagt: passt perfekt trotz des Schaltzuges der an der Kettenstrebe verläuft und auch noch mit rein muss. Das Material ist auch elastisch und lässt sich etwas ziehen. Damit sitzt der Schutz richtig straff.

tutto ok ,, è un batti catena come tanti altri ,, x me va piu che bene ,, forse nel colore rosso si notano i segni della catena ,, ma questa è una scelta che ho fatto io ci sono anche altri colori

Lo preso per riparare la mia bici e fa il suo lavoro. Ho una cube reaction gtc pro. Il modello SUPER jumbo veste bene sulla forcellina sotto la catena, che nel mio caso è abbastanza grossa.

Schutz hat ein riesen Bergzeitwerbelogo anstatt das abgebildete Lizard Skin Logo aufgedruckt und ist kleiner als beschrieben.Ansonsten scheint der Schutz ok zu sein.

Come da titolo. Fa il lavoro che gli viene chiesto più che egregiamente. Consigliato per salvare il telaio dai salti della catena.

Habe den Kettenstrebenschutz in der längsten Variante bestellt & mittlerweile an 5 verschiedenen MTBs getestet.Leider schlabbert er an allen Bikes und lässt sich einfach nicht straff genug am Rahmen fixieren.Der Klettbereich ist viel zu schmal und dadurch ist natürlich auch kein Spielraum beim Straffen gegeben.2 Sterne dennoch, da die Aufschrift echt cool aussieht und die Länge für aktuelle MTBs die Kettenstrebe perfektabdeckt.Fazit: Zu teuer, dafür das er sich nur sporadisch befestigen lässt.

These are great to protect your frame chain stays from slapping chain marks. I use the Medium size (Jumbo) on my mountain bikes, The Super Jumbo (large) on my Fat Bikes and full suspension mountain bikes, And if the chain stay is long like on a Fat bike with allot of tire clearance I use the 29er size, It is like a Super Jumbo (large) but a little longer to protect more of the chain stay. I have been using these Lizard Skins for over 5 years, never had to replace any, And they are better then tape or the thin decal like protector that might be on your new bike, because these are slightly padded. By the way they are not Lizard skins, that is just the product name they use. They are made of a stretch material with velcro to fasten.

This was installed on a large frame, giant stance and fit great. If you have a newer full suspension mountain bike with a largr (thick) frame, you need the super jumbo size chain stay.This was very easy to install (took about 1 minutes) - largely in part because I purchased the correct size. I would like for it to be about 2 inches longer to cover the entire length of the chainstay; however, the length should be sufficient as the chain is unlikely to "slap" the ends of the chainstayI will provide an update if needed as I get out on the trail and ride.,

Awesome! I have a 2013 diamondback recoil pro which has a very large, over-the-top chain stay. The white shifter cable is routed underneath and gets hit/dirty from the greasy chain. I was concerned that the cable would eventually become compromised from being hit by the chain all the time in rough trails and jumps. I was also concerned about finding the correct size since this particular chain stay is rather large. It turned out to be a perfect fit. Tight enough to stay put but not too small that it is difficult to install. Couldn't ask for a better experience.

This perfectly fits my NINER RLT 9 cyclocross bike. I have owned six or seven Lizard Skin chainstay protectors over the last ten years. They last forever and protect your bike from nicks and dings. They typically last forever and show little to no wear. I expect this one will be just as good.

I put this on my Salsa Fat bike as it only came with a thin clear chainstay guard protector. Due to the chainstay being tapered-thin and then gradually thicker I applied this to the thinner section via the built in Velcro and slid it down the tube into place. It has held up through the snow, slush and mud that the bike has been driven through as well as numerous washings! Thank you Lizard Skins for your awesome products!

This stuff is also great for wrapping up the wires on e-bikes. Keeps 'em dry and protected and out of sight. Great product.
