Greatest watch I've ever owned in 54 years!
This watch has almost every feature I have ever wanted in a watch! -Classy Black w Gold accents -Comfoetable rubber band -Second hand -Digital display -Stop watch -World time, including UTC -Backlight! Super bright, and I use it for a mini-flashlight in a bind! -Solar powered, NEVER needs batteries! -Day and date display -Sized just perfect for my man hand -Looks very professional, classy, but not overly flashy. The only thing I would change if I could custom order a watch would be to have a harder lense, as this plastic one does scratch easy, so I try to be a bit more careful with it. Someday when the lense gets too scratched up, I plan to take it to a watch shop and see if they can replace the lense w a harder one, or I will just buy another of this same watch and keep the scratched one as my "work around the house" watch. I have searched for most of my life for the ultimate watch for me, that would have all of these features, and never found it until NOW! Every day that I put it on, and then look at it throughout the day, I just love it! But that is just me. (-

Simple Elegance
Solar powered, although the rechargeable battery may need to be replaced after a decade or so, but is available on Amazon. The time is synchronized every night from the atomic clock consortium in Colorado, always precise. Black with gold accent, looks great. I did have to order another band because the resin is a bit too uncomfortable for me, but is perfectly fine as is. My second one, the first lasted over 15 years until I dropped it once too often. Great Watch!

Elegant, functional, but not a good watch to use in dark environments. English instructions on Web.
Great watch, but there are 3 quirks. (1) The instructions were provided only in Japanese. I found, at Casio's website, instructions for a very similar model in English and used them. (2) The display illumination (a yellow LED, switched on by the upper right button) is really for emergencies only. Using it a very few times will run down the battery (which recharges in room light or sunlight). (3) This solar-powered watch sleeps when it's kept in the dark. After about an hour in the dark at nighttime, the second hand stops moving. (Perhaps not a good watch to use in dark environments.) After a week in the dark, the hands go to 12 o'clock and stop. When the lights come on or when you first take it out of the box, the hands suddenly twirl around to the correct position, because it hasn't stopped keeping time.

Great watch, very happy with this purchase.
Excellent watch. Great bang for the buck. Very light (1.6 oz/45 grams). It's easy to forget you have it on. The documentation that comes with the watch is in Japanese, but it was pretty easy to find the English version online. Once you do that, you'll have to change the language for the days of the week. Piece of cake. The displayed time was about 90 seconds off initially, so I had to do a manual sync with the atomic clock. You can spend lots more for a radio controlled solar watch if bling is your thing, but it wont get any more accurate.

It could have been a contender...
The product arrived damaged. When I opened the package to remove the watch, the watch band broke. It was like it disintegrated in my hand! Then when I looked at the rest of the band the inside of it looked old and damaged. I repacked it and sent it back immediately. I was very disappointed because this watch had all the right specs: atomic timekeeping, solar recharging, and a simple but respectable refined look and the price was fair. I do not remember which seller I actually got this from but I suspect they may have been an overseas seller that was getting rid of gray market goods. Thank God for Amazon Prime's return policy.

Technologically Advanced, But Difficult to Read
Pros: This watch is a true technological miracle. It receives time signals from a remote station, and updates itself every night. I'm perhaps 750 miles away from my nearest station (US), but it is still able to receive and reset the time—automatically and accurately—every night. It even lets you see the last date and time it reset. It is solar powered, and the battery level has indicated HI since I got it—that is, no problem keeping it powered. There are extra functions accessible via buttons. Some of these require a specific sequence of presses; these can be found in the PDF documentation, which you can find online. You don't, of course, have to use the extra functions (timer, world time, stopwatch, etc.). The band feels like rubber and works well. Cons: The watch fails the most basic function it's made for—reading the time with a quick glance. Don't be fooled by the clear picture in the ad. The designers chose to give the face a circular whorl pattern that reflects brightly in sunlight. The crystal, face, and hands also generate many distracting reflections. Finally, the digital LCD window is light-on-dark colored, and darn near impossible to read unless lined up with available light at just the right angle. There is an included momentary night light, turned on by a button. You might be able to read the analog hand position after a try or two, but, again, the LCD window cannot be read in the dark with the nightlight. You'd need a flashlight for that. Great technology. I just wish they'd paid more attention to making it readable.

Classy and functional!
Had my last Wave Ceptor for 20 years before sadly the hands stopped moving (still keeps digital time!). Self-setting, self-powered, what else does one need? So I went looking and was happy to find these. Very classy looking black chrome finish. The digital display is black with grey backlight digits, so it's a little harder to read than my old one, but 99% of my use is glancing at the hands, so I don't mind, considering the dark color adds to the classy look. As others have mentioned, the manual is easy to find online in English, but one thing I didn't consider was that the day of the week indicator is in Japanese characters, not "MO", "TU" etc like the US model would've had. I suppose when I retire I'll need to know what day of the week it is ;-) but for now, the date is all I need.

Decent, tech-and-fun filled electronic analog lightweight watch
Received my order as it should be. A brand new watch, works perfectly fine. Unsuccessful wave ceptor sync attempts (indoor) worried me a bit at start, but it worked beautifully when did it outdoor. Some people are worried about legibility of the negative LCD display, but I like it indeed as i find it blending in perfectly without distracting me from reading the analog time in a glance. In a word, it's a decent, tech-and-fun filled electronic analog lightweight watch, for Casio watch lovers^_^

Ist halt Casio
Man bekommt was man kauft.

Accurate time
Looks classy, easy to read, like the small bump on the end of the watch strap which prevents the ring on the strap from wandering. I am in an appartment and often a wave ceptor does'nt work. If I put the watch against an outside window that doesn't have an overhang, it works well. The instructions were in Chinese but found the english version on the web on the Casio web site. Nice watch.
