Works for PS4 controller
I was having that left stick sprint problem, which can be game breaking for certain games. I decided to give this a try since it would be cheaper than buying a new controller. Plus, this was my controller that came with my Star Wars Ps4 Pro so I didn't want to give it to the trash can just yet.I was a little limited in my supplies, so this is what I did. I used a weller soldering iron, solder sucker (cheap blue/silver one on here that comes with 3 suckers and 2 copper braids), and some flux core 60/40 solder, and a helping hands tool.1. Set everything up using a "helping hands" that I got from harbor freight.2. Remove some solder from contact points (I didn't have any flux so I added some solder that had flux in it when using the solder sucker to remove solder from the contacts).3. At this point I was having trouble getting the joystick off, so I took the green parts that are on two edges of the joystick, and with a little force you can pry them away from the joystick and wiggle them back and forth until they snap off. This gives you room to use the solder sucker from one side and the iron on the other to hopefully clear the hole.4. On any of those 6 holes that didn't clear yet, I used copper braid to remove at least the metal piece that was sticking out of the hole. You might need to get creative.5. At this point if you have a heat gun (or even before this point) you might be able to use it to heat the solder and remove the old joystick. I didn't so I had to improvise. While the board was in the helping hands, I put the blade of my leatherman underneath the part and slowly worked the part off the board while heating the solder points on the other side. This was a slow process that you don't want to rush and risk overhewting your board. My method was a little MacGyver but it did in fact work.6. Use the solder sucker to remove any extra solder from the holes. Clean the board with rubbing alcohol and a toothbrush if you have one.7. Carfully put the new part on and match up all the holes to the contacts on the joystick. Be carful, you don't want to mess up now that 90% of the hard work is already done. I used a dental pick to adjust a couple of the strays while applying a little pressure.8. Solder all the points and check for any bridges. At this point I did one last clean and inspection before putting the controller back together.I had my soldering iron set to 700F most of the time. You could probably go a little down, but my theory was that the less time I'm putting contact on the board, the less heat will absorb and hurt the chips. If there is ever a time your solder on the board won't melt, try adding a little fresh solder.Good Luck

Worse than broken stock module
They look similar to the stock ps4 controller modules and they fit well. However the sticks are very stiff and way too sensitive. There seems to be a large deadzone in the center as well. It is impossible to do small joystick movements because of this. These are poor knockoffs and I would not recommend them.

Still working well in the PS3 remotes I fixed
had to fix my gfs ps3 remotes... while nobody said this was right, it looked identical to the joystick sensor I pulled out. Itbl worked! Here we areb6 months later, it is still working, albeit mostly for Netflix, not for tons of heavy gaming. If its what you need, it'll do the job!

Defective
I replaced my left thumbstick with one of the replacements. L3 didn't work. I replaced that one with the other replacement stick, and L3 didn't work. These products are defective and not worth the time to desolder and install these. Don't waste your time. Just buy a new controller.

Different than original
These are not the exact same as the original. Slight difference.

Excellent!
Item seems to be an oem replacement for the ps4 controller. Just an FIY, this isn’t a plug and play module, you need to solder it on. Everything is smooth and works perfectly after install.
