The Ohio Players were on Fire in 1977 literally!! The Band was such a well known Funky ensemble that The Midnight Special concert program form the 70's&80's contributed a whole show to them.Featuring Billy Beck on keyboards&percussions and vocals,Leroy"Sugarfoot" Bonner on guitars,percussion and vocals,Marshall "Rock" Jones on Bass,Robert"Rumba"Jones on Conga's,Ralph"Pee Wee" Middlebrooks on Trombone&Trumpet,Mervin Pierce,Trombone,Trumpet&Fluglehorn and Clarence "Satch" Satchell on flute,percussions,sax and vocals the set captures 9 tracks of pure Funk. Featured are some of their best known tracks "Love Rollercoaster","Who'd She Coo?","Alone",Skin Tight","I Want To Be Free" a thirty minute version of Fire pt1&2" which improvises into elements of Stevie Wonder's "I Wish" are featured. The sound quality is stellar and at over 70minutes it's an all out extreme party. A full page photo from The Midnight Special and a detailed booklet fill in the set. These tracks were recorded live in San Carlos,Ca (venue not mentioned)on March 12th 1977.... it's a Funky affair.

Bad recording quality. Hoped it would be so much better.
This cd has really bad sound. It sounds like a soundboard recording and the mix on the drums is super hot and clips at times.

La bomba. Estos si es auténtico Funk de los 70. Grupos donde todos eran brutales instrumentistas y juntos, encima de un escenario alcanzaban clímax de alto voltaje.

Tolles Zeitdokument mit akzeptablem Sound. Für den Preis von über 20 Euro hatte ich etwas mehr erwartet, aber ich bin zufrieden, da es jetzt endlich mal eine Live Aufnahme aus der guten alten 70er Jahren gibt.Die Ohio Players zeigen sich beachtlich spielfreudig. Besonders bei der zwei mal 15 Minuten langen Version von Fire (inklusive Medley mit O-H-I-O und Sir Duke von Stevie Wonder. Mehr davon.Für Fans Pflicht.

A ne pas rater pour les fans d'Ohio Players.Ce live qui vient d'être rééditer en format digipack a été enregistré durant le Contradiction Tour à San Carlos en Californie.Au sommet de leur popularité, lorqu'ils ont pris la scène pour ce concert en 1977 et ce qui reste à ce jour le seul témoignage live de cette fabuleuse période des OP.Tout y est ballade, son percutant et et une version phénoménale de “Fire” de 31 minutes ! avec en prime quelques reprises, notamment de Stevie Wonder...
