Great Idea! Works Wonders for my Special Child`
I have a child that faces some behavioral challenges and this has been wonderful for her! It helps because she can easily Earn the Marbles and when a consequence is given it is in Marbles. This avoids the complete meltdown over something specific. When it comes time for her to want to do ANY extras.. Well that costs X number of Marbles and either she has them or she doesn't!LOVE IT! It also helps because I never have to come up with the consequence... its Good earns and poor debits! The Marbles are fun although the jar didn't work for me because I have 3 girls so I made cute jars from my kitchen.. Each decorated their own Jar and it helps them to be able to at the end of the Day tell me what they think they did good.. Each good gets a Marble! This helps them identify their own good behaviors and seems to be building their self esteem! What an Awesome System!(the only reason I didn't give 5 stars is I would have liked to see more variety in the ones I got and the jar was a bit scratched cause it is plastic and some of the marbles are textured)

Not worth your money
I expected something better than what this is. If I had a friend who wanted to start a "Good Job Jar" I'd recommend they buy marbles and find a nice jar to use, this is just a plastic jar, kind of gritty and all scratched up from marbles that were broken inside of it. It's impossible to peel the labels off without ripping your fingernails and using a ton of Goo Gone, and I think it makes sense to peel the labels off and decorate it yourself (we put on a piece of paper with the ways to earn and lose marbles). The kids have to unscrew the lid to add marbles. You'd get more bang for your buck just cleaning out an old large Peanut Butter Jar and picking up some dollar store marbles, the quality doesn't make this worth the $17 I paid, and the broken marbles meant that I had to rinse them all off before letting my son touch them for fear of glass shards. The storage pouch is decent though.

Excellent reward system: takes a long time to fill up.
My kids scramble to earn these. Per parenting research, positive rewarding works really well in visible form like this, and this is a simple way to get started. My only hesitation: it takes so long to fill. I drew level marks on mine for achievement goals, rather than having to wait until it's totally full. But when it is finally totally full, the kids get a major reward. As a parent, I know to be hesitant to give advice, so do what's best for your child because you know him/her best, but this has been a great tool for us, aligning with best practice recommended by researchers.

Great set of marbles
These marbles are a great deal. The Amazon description of over 200 marbles is inaccurate- the jar states over 120 and the real count is somewhere in between. There are about 40 marbles that are pretty plain and not very exciting to look at, we used these for our marble runs and as counters, etc. But the rest of the marbles are really quite beautiful and very enchanting to my all of my kids aged 7, 5, and 3. They play ringer, organize them, trade them... It's just really refreshing to see them engaged with something so simple and yet educational on so many levels- tactile, mathematical, cognitive, language... You are only limited by the imagination when it comes to this very nice set.

I purchased these for an art project
I purchased these for use in an art project that required marbles (with the exception of the included 5 larger "Shooters) with a consistent 5/8" diameter (i.e. all the same size) The specs posted by the manufacturer alluded to the regular marbles being 5/8" in diameter; In actuality, only about 1 out of 4 marbles is 5/8" - all the rest are slightly smaller or slightly larger. Also, the "speckled/sparkly" marbles have a rough exterior surface and will not roll properly, making these undesirable for competition purposes.

Great motivator, marbles are super cool.
I really like this Marble Jar as a motivator for my class. The marbles are really different and cool. The one thing I would change is for it to have an easy open top rather than a screw one. The students have a hard time unscrewing it with their small hands. It's a great value for the price.

Great Value, Cool Marbles
I got this to use as a reward system for my 6 year old son. However, I mostly just wanted a good selection of marbles for a nice price. That is what I got - there are 200+ marbles according to the package, and there are some really cool ones. The container was intact and the bag included fits all the marbles (though a drawstring close isn't ideal - my son has already spilled marbles out trying to pick his own). Also comes with 5 larger marbles for special rewards. Very happy with this purchase!

BEST AUNTIE EVER
My Nephew opened the box and saw the marbles and immediately said, "you're the best Auntie ever. He absolutely loved them. The marbles are so colorful and the plastic jar is full to the brim. I'm really not sure if they were worth the price, I think they were a bit pricey, but what Nephew wants, he usually gets.
