Sweet love story.
Wonderful love story full of tenderness, hope, and love between two people who have had lots of sorrow in their lives. It just makes you feel good! Very sweet story.

Well-written, but pretty predictable
It is fairly obvious from the beginning that these two people will end up together. The obstacles and challenges they faced were fairly trivial and silly. Their verbal sparring was meant to show them both as intelligent and clever, but it fell flat for the most part, in my opinion. I almost put the book down without finishing it.

Another fun book from Matt Dunn!
If there were ever two more screwed up people on a blind date, I'd be surprised. Matt Dunn has once again made me laugh at the foibles of messed up human beings while falling in love with them as they fall in love with each other. Loved this book.

A fun read with several twists on a typical blind date, first date theme.I really enjoyed it and could understand the challenge of getting past loss.

charmingly hilarious
Lisa doesn't have the best track record with dating and seems to be attracted to all the wrong guys. Despite her poor luck, she still believes fate has someone wonderful in store for her and maintains hope. Simon has found the love of his life and subsequently lost her. He's just getting by and would prefer his friends didn't meddle in his life. But of course, his friend Will can't help himself and tricks Simon into meeting Lisa for a blind date, courtesy of the local newspaper. Will these two hit it off or be yet another failure in the column's mismatches?Firstly, I may be a bit biased because I've read nearly everything Matt Dunn has written and always snag his new releases. I adore his wit and humor and he's always been one of my favorite authors. While this is not my favorite of his, mostly because I really didn't care for Lisa, I still really enjoyed it. It was hilarious, awkward and charming, much like life itself. Plus there were some very hopeful and also poignant overtones in this that I vastly appreciated. I'd say Matt hasn't let me down yet and I'll keep dutifully reading his work.I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Nothing much happens...
I wanted to love this book. After reading all of Perotta and Tropper and some of Hornby (some of his books are unfinishable), I was wanting to stick to rom-coms, and this sounded like a series I could really get into. Unfortunately, the action is tedious, taking over 80 pages to tell about a blind date at which nothing really happened. Add to this, the very British humor which is done well at first, but then becomes too much, as every next sentence is a set up for the next joke derived from a misunderstanding. For 40 pages, I was loving this book, but then I needed a change of pace. Something more than mere talking needed to happen, but then it just keeps going exactly the same. I haven't given up on the author, as this is the first in the series, but if the rest of the series is like this one, I'll have to pass.

Nowhere near as good as previous books!
Despite being a fan of a number of Matt Dunn’s previous books, I really didn't enjoy this one. The entire content is a little flimsy without a strong plot to carry it through, despite the idea being an interesting one to explore. The two main characters are extremely unlikeable, especially the girl, who leaps from one emotional extreme to another without any real reason, while the guy comes across as a mopey whine . My only hope was that a less than happy ending for the characters would bring the book to satisfactory conclusion, but alas we're left with a predictable and very weak last few pages. Best to avoid and move on with your life.

An absolute shocker
Complete shocker. I’ve enjoyed Matt’s previous books enormously but this is the dullest, most inane and cliched book I’ve read in a long, long time. The characters are not even one dimensional; the plot is tedious; the narrative uninteresting and the outcome could have been predicted by a goat with severe learning difficulties. Not that it would have cared - it was that unrewarding. Read his other stuff - it’s great - but don’t waste your life on this.

Another winner from Matt Dunn
Couldn't wait to start reading Matt Dunns latest, 'Then I met you'. Problem was, soon as I started reading, I couldn't put it down. Lose so much sleep reading these books !!! Wonderful, Brilliant storylines, fabulous humour, real life experiences, Sorry but I read it in one sitting AGAIN. so can't wait for the next book. If anyone hasn't tried one of Matts books then you honestly don't know what you're missing, LOVE THEM x

I really enjoyed this book...
...even though its a bit frustrating... well, the predicament the characters find themselves in...and you're rooting for both of them... and want to smack both of them... and you don't really want to stop reading ... and just one more chapter ... and then you nearly miss your stop!! So yeah, I got into this book. 😁 I enjoy Matt's books. I've read a few now...and while you know its Matt's work, its not a predictable journey he takes you on. And I like the humour. If you want a light enjoyable read (as opposed to some heavy maniac-killer-on-the-loose-I'm-scared-to-turn-the-lights-off, kinda thing) that will suck you in and make you miss your stop... yep! This is the book for you! Enjoy! 😁

I sigh out loud
Another 5 star book.Could this be the new start, follow up to my ex girlfriend series.I would like to think that the characters start to get some meat on them.Chris the ex boyfriend could add something, Mum and dad potential maybe. Will and His girlfriend maybe .Or could we get Dan flirting into the scene. Mr Wayne Kerr.Matt's books are great fun and very enjoyable
