Not only is the shifter of low quality, it is an absolute safety hazard to use
The shifter looked great out of the box, looked like exactly what I needed to replace mine in my 1988 Mercedes 300 CE. Upon installation, the whole top section of the shift knob came off entirely without any force and the bottom started chipping immediately after. The inside was coated in what looked like blue putty, almost like Loctite. I cannot believe something that controls the transmission of a car would be allowed to have such poor Quality Assurance, such that the entire knob and rob could separate just by changing gears.
