Saved me two times - that's two major basement cleanouts avoided.
These are just great! No two ways around it. I have had my basement saved twice by this device. The last time it went off and woke us up in the middle of the night that the hot water heater had failed and while I got to it quickly, it still had submerged the original LeakFrog from 5 years ago and shorted the board out, so I bought a pair of new ones and actually bought a total of six and gave the others away to employees as a holiday gift. Put this behind your washing machine, next to the water heater, and on the basement that gets some water from time to time so you can move the items up BEFORE they are all soaked.

NO BATTERIES
These do not come with batteries as stated. Not a huge deal - but the description needs correction.

no batteries...
I received my 2 leak frogs - and there were no batteries in the box. It wasn't a big deal - but I felt that if it stated "with batteries" then there should have been batteries in the box.

Saving headaches (and basements)
This thing has saved me so many headaches. My basement had some water problems, but thankfully only on the unfinished part on bare concrete. However, if it was raining very heavily and the leak was undiscovered, it would have been possible for it to reach the finished, carpeted part of the basement. While we were working to fix the root of the problem, we got these LeakFrogs so we would know immediately when there was a problem and we could stop it before it got bad.Out of the box, these did not come with batteries. That was a bit disappointing because the listing said it did come with them, but Amazon credited my account the cost of a pack of batteries, so I was able to get batteries with no (real) issue.Once I got the batteries, I tried it out. Worked great, so I put it on the bare concrete where the water comes in and waited.Sure enough, that thing started beeping like crazy one night and I was able to prevent water damage. On multiple occasions this has saved time, money and lots of stress. Now, even though we've fixed the root of the water problem, we keep one in the basement and test it every so often, just because it was such a good little tool.

No brainer. Installed the battery and placed the leakFrogs at various spots - too easy. Last week the one in the attic went off, alerted me that there was a little water around the water heater.

Junk
Complete junk. After having it for few years the first time my basement ever got water seep in and this thing doesn't work. The item itself it's not water proof so it didn't sound alarm when there are water on the ground. The battery compartment has a seal but water got in anyway.

This was our second batch of "leak frog" we had purchased. They are constantly on guard and work perfectly. Saved our bacon several times.
