Great series but the third book falls a little flat
I really enjoyed the first book. It was a 4 star read for me, and the second one was entertaining. This book though...was just kind of boring. The characters get in the same situations over and over again. They have the same conflict again and again, and have the same moral dilemmas again and again. I found myself skimming the pages as quick as possible towards the end. This book also seemed like it tried to cover a lot of themes but couldn't pick one and so we just got the surface level of everything it wanted to be and it came off as preachy. The characters were fine...but I thought we would see more of a struggle with Naomi. She kind of had a hard time at first and then suddenly is super cool with everything. Abel was the same. I liked his character the most but he seemed less charismatic than in the other books. The romance was kind of a let down. They didn't seem to have the same chemistry as they did in the first two books but it ends good enough.I think overall the series is good and if you liked the first two you should at least read it to see what happens.

This Series is My Favorite
My goodness, where do I start? This book is the final installment of a trilogy by Gray and I just have to say, I read it in less than 6 hours and I absolutely loved it. It was a wonderful read. This whole trilogy is very near and dear to my heart, and is definitely my favorite alongside the Maze Runner series. I felt this trilogy (and this book especially) is incredibly unique, creative, romantic, and just all around fun to read. If I could give this one a million stars out of five, I would.

A fun read
This book (and the trilogy it's part of) explores a romantic relationship between a human and an advanced AI in human form. It also had a nice storyline involving many planetary systems within the galaxy. The book is firmly in the realm of soft sci fi, not emphasising the physics or science, but still giving a lot of opportunity for wonder and imagination.

TEN OUT OF TEN!!!
I love anything Claudia Gray writes, but this series is magnificent! My life will never be the same after Abel and Neomi!! Couldn't recommend this trilogy more!

There needs to be more!!
I found the defy the stars at dollar tree and didn’t realize until I read the whole book that I had in fact started in the middle of a trilogy! To my dismay I read that book in a day and longed for more. So I happily ordered this one and again finished it in about 2 days and I literally wish there was a 4th!!!! They are sooooo amazing!

Solid Ending for the Series
Without spoiling anything, it ties up all the loose ends and brings things to a satisfying conclusion

Directive one, to love
This trilogy was thoroughly enjoyable. The characters and world building is excellent, the story telling skills create a page turner that's very immersive.Beyond that Claudia Gray throws out questions about humanity, what it is to be a human, how we define ourselves as humans and separate that from the importance of and advanced android. From this our main protagonist is always questioning not only her place in her life, her family and planet but the universe and the meaning behind the religion she has been brought up with.Everything she has ever known as a soldier is questioned the day she meets Abel, an advanced mech. From that day on their lives are entwined in ways they could not imagine, in ways that would change the galaxy as they know it.This trilogy is science fiction, fun, space battles, tech and thoughtful. It put me in mind of Becky Chambers writing.Read this trilogy if you like a good, thoughtful fast paced story with characters you root for.

Felt Rushed...
It felt like this story was rushed. The clever and thought provoking topics that were mentioned in the previous books, were not used in this book, which is a bit puzzling as to why not?

Gelungener Abschluss!
