Cute
Cute book - covers briefly what octopus can do - good for ages 2-4 maybe. It’s a cute story but not too much information if you’re looking for educational.

Some scary picutres for toddlers
I took a chance on getting this book, thinking it would be as wonderful as Smily Shark. MISTAKE. This story is about an octopus that likes to tickle other fish. He tickles an oyster and he drops his pearl way deep in the ocean. The octopus learns he has great skills by having to squeeze himself through narrow passages in the ocean to reach the pear (that's the moral). However, there are some seriously scary pictures of a catfish and some other animals that he faces as he goes deeper in the ocean. I didn't even like the pictures myself. Needless to say, I only read it once and will probably donate the book. Make sure you see the pages in the book befor you purchase it. Smily Shark is the best I think.

Missing pages
I bought this book used. While I expected that there would be wear and tear, I was unhappy to see that it is missing pages. Glad I didn't pay very much, as it was pretty disappointing for my kid to have part of the story missing.

Adorable octopus picture book
This picture book is particularly good because the story is cute but you also learn about octopuses and what they can do. Really like the book.

My toddler LOVES this book
I was a little worried about the "scary pictures" described by others, and yes, there's a menacing eel and some dark seascapes of the bottom of the ocean, but nothing I thought my son would find troubling. I am glad I took the gamble: my 20-month-old loves this book and I have read it 5+ every night since it arrived (He requests it by name, "Ock-pushh!") Maybe not for more sensitive kids because of the darker scenes, but in general, the word play and illustrations are just great. I'm back looking for more in a similar vein.

A very fun book! Fidgety Fish was one of my favorites to read my daughter and when I found out about this one, I had to get it. Not as good as Fidgety Fish, but still a fun read!

Good Pictures and Story for youngers
I bought this for my two girls, ages 4 and 6. Living in Hawaii, we have first hand knowledge of the octopus (tako). They enjoyed seeing the octopus learn about its different "powers". The illustrations were energetic and engaging.
