The lock itself is reasonably priced compared to the name brand alternative and totally serves its purpose. Once installed, it will absolutely prevent anyone from getting in that door without an incredible amount of effort and noise. I definitely felt safer using this additional lock last month at an Airbnb with an extremely guessable front door code that I suspect is not changed between guests. I suggest everyone staying in the room or home familiarize themselves with installing and removing the lock. Putting it on the door is a bit awkward and takes some practice to do fluidly, and you don't want to struggle with the lock during a fire. Thankfully, it is easier to remove than put in place.The carrying case is a piece of crap. It literally ripped down both seams the first time I opened it. Not a deal-breaker, but inconvenient, annoying, and the reason I docked one star.Bottom line: I definitely recommend this style of lock, especially for traveling females and maybe even teachers concerned about classroom security during the current epidemic of school shootings. I'll be buying more for myself and others, but will look first for similar brands in the same price range with a decent holder.

A little awkward to figure out how it all goes together but way worth the money once you do. I had one of those under the door bars but moving into a new place and have tile that it just wasn’t staying out there anymore. I got this and I feel WAY secure. I will say that I don’t love having to open the door to put it in. If it were a scary scenario that would not be ideal. I still have the bar thing though if I ever really need it. Great for peace of mind.

Meant for newer model doors and hotel rooms. I had to take this to a garage for them to say a couple inches off to adjust to my old bedroom door. After that it's a cake walk and a life saver. Even if your door does have a lock pre installed, it works just like you did. Just remember you might have to saw some of it down to fit your door.

We were going to a timeshare that we had visited in the past, and I knew the door lock was a little iffy. I ordered these locks so I could feel safer. I tried these out at home on my own doors, and they were awesome. Had a great vacation, secure in the knowledge that the doors could not be opened from the outside!!

Ingenious method of blocking your door from the inside. I'll take this with me on future trips. A little difficult to get the hang of at first, but seems to work well.

I was THOROUGHLY impressed with this device. It totally came in handy earlier this week while in a AirBnB in Barcelona. The door did not come with a lock, which is odd. But I was not worried one bit. Again, this is a must have for travelers and I plan on buying a few more as gifts to friends and family.

This lock works great - and replaces an out-of-alignment door in our house that sometimes needs a lock when the kids have friends around. Shower in peace! :) I plan to take it with me on trips too - will work great for travel.

AMAZING! This works perfectly! It shuts the door completely w ZERO play. And I have to pull the door in slightly to get my deadbolt aligned so it locks. I couldn’t be more pleased! And so inexpensive & easy to use, I highly recommend this lock!

I cannot tell you how much I love this lock/key, I don’t go anywhere without it. An absolute life saver! So easy to use! So far it only did not work for one door because the door lock area was too small

Used this on my bedroom door and it kept out my mom and brother. 10/10 recommend not even if your doing something shady but when you just want privacy and your family doesn’t understand!

Tried on a few doors, but doesn't work on all the doors I tried, Haven't tried it at al Hotel yet.
